AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal conducted a jam-packed roadshow in Amreli, Gujarat. The roadshow saw a sea of locals, many of whom thronged their balconies and bylanes to catch a glimpse of Shri Arvind Kejriwal. All the streets of the city were decked in blue & yellow to support AAP. During the roadshow, Shri Arvind Kejriwal was gifted a portrait of Babasaheb Ambedkar which he humbly accepted. Committing to AAP’s agenda of public welfare, he appealed to the public saying, “I am appealing to people of Gujarat to help Aam Aadmi Party win assembly elections this time and I will free everyone from issues of high inflation and unemployment. You have to convince your family members to not waste their vote on BJP and to only vote for AAP for the progress of Gujarat. AAP National Convenor Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “The people of Amreli have gathered over here in such large numbers and I would like to humbly thank you all for coming here. This is such a huge crowd and you have come here to support me, therefore I am very thankful to you all. I have been travelling in all parts of Gujarat over the last couple of days and there is a massive wave of Parivartan in Gujarat. Whichever person we speak to in the state, they say that they desperately want a change of government. Something unique is happening in Gujarat. It is said that when there is a lot of corruption happening somewhere then the Gods decide to use their own ‘jhaadu’ and clean things up. This is what is happening in Gujarat. Ours is such a small political party, but wherever we have gone in Gujarat, the people are coming out and showering a lot of love on us. I whole-heartedly thank you all for this.”
He added, “The people of Gujarat have given me so much love. They consider me as their brother. Elderly consider me as their son, their family member. I am grateful for this. It is my promise that the day we will come to power, I will run the government as a member of your family and take all the responsibility. Firstly, I will get you relief from skyrocketing inflation. People are finding it hard to run the family and make ends meet. But still none of the other political parties are speaking about inflation. Neither the Congress nor the BJP. But I promise to reduce this burden of inflation on you all in Gujarat. There are so many women who have gathered here, and usually it is the women who face the most difficult times during high inflation as they run the household with a limited budget. After March 1st, you need not pay your electricity bills. Your brother Kejriwal will bear the expense. This is my guarantee and Kejriwal is known to fulfil his promises, unlike the other political leaders of the country. We are running the government in Delhi as well as in Punjab. People of Delhi and Punjab get electricity 24×7 and zero electricity bills. Likewise, in December we will form the government in Gujarat and then the people here will also get electricity 24×7 but not electricity bills from March 1st, 2023.”
He said, “Secondly, to all the women above the age of 18 years, all those mothers, sisters and daughters of our state, we will give Rs 1000 in their bank accounts every month. This will also provide them some relief from high inflation. I can see a lot of children and youth in the crowd over here. I am sure some of them will be unemployed at the moment. A lot of the times these youth of ours prepare hard for recruitment exams for the police and other services, and then when they are ready to give the exam, they find out that it has been cancelled because of a paper leak. How hard it must be for them and their families who make sacrifices for their children? Let me say this clearly, the paper is not leaked but sold to a few corrupt people. In the last 4-5 years there have been as many as 12 such paper leaks. Who are the people who get the paper to be leaked? It’s the leaders of the BJP, the ministers of the BJP who do this for their benefits. When we form the government in Gujarat, we will investigate all the paper leaks that have taken place in the state in the last seven years and we will send these leaders who have been involved in them to jail. In Delhi, we have been in power for the last seven years, but there have been no such instances of paper leak. In Punjab, we have been in power for seven months now and on October 14, 15 and 16, recruitment exams were held for the police forces there, that time there were no paper leaks. This is because we are an honest party and do not believe in indulging in corruption. We do not play with the futures of our children. Today I make a promise to you all that after forming the government in Gujarat, within one year we will fill up all the vacancies in the state government and there will not be a single paper leak. There are so many unemployed people in the state and it is the responsibility of the state government to get them employment. In Delhi, we have given employment to 12 lakh youths in the last five years. I am a sincere person and I will work hard to employ every unemployed person in Gujarat. I know how to create employment. I will get you jobs and till the time you don’t get employment, each youth will receive an unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month.”
Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal added, “I want to tell all the youth present here that a huge “parivartan” is going to take place in the state and they have this great opportunity to become a part of it. They must support the Aam Aadmi Party and get their family members to vote for them as well. The youth will go to their parents and the father may say that he has been a BJP voter for many years, but this time the youngster should urge his father to give AAP a chance. It is everyone’s responsibility to get the others in the family to vote for AAP. I am a well-educated person. I only know how to build schools. We have transformed the government schools in Delhi. People are taking their children out of private schools and enrolling them in government schools. Children from poor families are becoming doctors, engineers and lawyers. The children of a judge, an IAS officer and a labourer will sit together and study in our government schools. I promise to build such schools in Gujarat as well. The responsibility of educating your children is going to be mine from now on. We have built excellent hospitals and mohalla clinics in Delhi. They are of such great quality that even private hospitals cannot match the treatment provided in government hospitals. We provide healthcare to everyone in Delhi free-of-cost, be it a medicine costing Rs 5 or an operation costing Rs 20-25 lakhs. We will build excellent mohalla clinics and hospitals across the entire Gujarat.”
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Did any party say that they will build schools-hospitals and provide free electricity or jobs? Only AAP understands the plight of the common man and raises their issues. If you want hooliganism or abuse, vote for those people. I am a well-educated person. I only know how to build schools, you can come to me for that. I am an Engineer. If you want electricity, hospitals, water and roads, come to me. These people curse Kejriwal day in and day out and say that I spoil people by providing everything to them for free. They accuse me of providing “free ki revdi”. Yes, I do provide “free ki revdi” but I give it to the people. The BJP provides “free ki revdi” to their industrialist friends. They have waived off loans worth Rs 10,000 crores from their friends. They ask me why I provide free electricity to the people? Every minister gets free electricity up to 4000 units. I provide 300 units of free electricity to the people and the BJP has a problem with that. They say that there will be a loss for the revenue of the state. When you provide 4000 units to your ministers, then there is no loss. I want to tell the BJP to not worry. Kejriwal is well-educated and there will be no loss to the state government by providing electricity to the people of the state.”
Shri Arvind Kejriwal concluded, “Today, I have a single request to make. You gave the BJP 27 years, now give me a chance for 5 years. If I do not bring progress, I will not come to ask for votes again. Just give me five years and together with the support of the people we will build good schools and hospitals in the state. Just earlier today, I travelled from Bhavnagar to Amreli and the entire road is in such bad shape. I promise to get this road built once our government comes to power in Gujarat. AAP does not have unaccounted cash like the BJP and therefore the people need to be our voice. I am the Chief Minister of Delhi, but since I am honest, I do not have the kind of money that the BJP has. I travel like this on the road and ask for support for my party candidates. Have you seen Bhupendra Patel do this for his party candidates, or any other minister from the BJP do this? It is the people of the state who are fighting this election with AAP and they are fighting for a change that Gujarat needs.”
