AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal made it clear that he would not rest until justice and fairness are brought to the people of India. Speaking after visiting Rajghat, where he had paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Shri Arvind Kejriwal declared that he and his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), would be the voice and hope of the people, and would fight against oppression and tyranny until their last breath. AAP is walking on the path shown by Bapu, we are on the path of truth, fighting against injustice and oppression; in the end, only truth will win, he proclaimed.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal then left for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters to join the questioning he was summoned for. There apart from him, other AAP leaders, including Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann were stopped by the Delhi police. Despite this setback, the CM remained resolute, stating that the fight against corruption and injustice would continue.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s determination to stand up to corruption and oppression has struck a chord with many Indians who have grown disillusioned with the country’s political establishment. His words today will no doubt inspire many more to join him in his quest for a better and fairer India.
As he left for the CBI Headquarters on Sunday, AAP National Convenor Shri Arvind Kejriwal visited Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi. Along with the Delhi CM, Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann, senior leaders and Rajya Sabha MPs Shri Sanjay Singh, Shri Raghav Chadha, Dr Sandeep Pathak, Shri ND Gupta, cabinet ministers Shri Kailash Gahlot, Shri Raaj Kumar Anand, Ms Atishi, Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj and Shri Imran Hussain, AAP National Secretary Shri Pankaj Gupta and the Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly Shri Kultar Singh Sandhwan were present.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal shared a post on Twitter and wrote, “Today before going to the CBI office, I visited Rajghat and took the blessings of Bapu. We are on the path that has been shown by Bapu, we are on the path of truth against injustice and oppression. In the end, it will be the victory of truth.”
Addressing the media, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that he was on his way to the CBI Headquarters. He said that India was a great nation and that the work done by the state government in Delhi has now given hope to the rest of the country as well. “India is a great country. After 75 years of Independence a government had come to Delhi that brought a ray of hope to the citizens. For the first time since Independence, a state government came to Delhi to improve the condition of schools and hospitals. For the first time the electricity and water supply in the city were also improved, and the people were very happy with the work of the state government. There was good developmental work happening in all spheres of life,” he said.
“Looking at this tremendous development in Delhi the rest of the country also started to have high hopes that India can become No 1 in the world. But there are some anti-national forces in the country who do not want schools and hospitals to be built, poor children to receive good education and India to become the number one country in the world,” he said. He added that it was these anti-national forces that kept India backward for the last 75 years as it suited their own personal agenda.
The Delhi CM further added that these anti-national forces will no longer be able to stop the aspirations of the people of India. “I want to say to these anti-national forces that you can trouble us Indians as much as you want, but now India will not stop. The youth of this nation are impatient now and they will not stop at anything short of India being developed as the No 1 country in the world. Irrespective of what the political parties that are against the nation want to do, the youth is now impatient to bring development into India. We are not going to get afraid by these anti-national forces irrespective of what they do,” he said.
Before the AAP leaders could reach the CBI Headquarter on Lodhi Road, they were stopped by the Delhi Police. The leaders decided to sit down for a dharna outside the CBI office demanding for justice.
