Tensions escalated outside Tihar Jail as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members and the public staged a vehement protest against the BJP government’s alleged failure to provide insulin to CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, currently detained in Tihar. Cabinet Minister Atishi, alongside MLA Sanjeev Jha and Chief Spokesperson (National) Priyanka Kakkar, led the demonstration, accompanied by other prominent leaders and activists. Despite attempts to deliver insulin injections brought by Delhiites, jail officials refused to accept the medication, sparking outrage among protesters. Atishi condemned the officials’ actions, accusing the BJP of endangering CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s life by withholding vital treatment. During this, AAP leaders had arrived with placards, posters and banners written in their hands, ‘Give insulin to Arvind Kejriwal’ and ‘Don’t play with the life of Arvind Kejriwal’.
During this, Senior AAP Leader and Cabinet Minister in the Kejriwal Atishi said that the people of Delhi have sent insulin for their CM, Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been a diabetic patient for the last 20 years. Today, his sugar level has reached above 300 and the sugar level is continuously above 300. If you consult any doctor not only in Delhi and the country, but in the world, they will tell you that if the sugar level is above 300, it cannot be reduced without taking an Insulin injection. If the sugar level above 300 cannot be controlled without Insulin and the Tihar administration is refusing to give insulin, then clearly Arvind Kejriwal’s life is in danger.
The Senior AAP Leader said that Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s sugar level is continuously at a high level. This affects the kidney, liver, eyes and the nervous system. If something happens to Shri Arvind Kejriwal, who will be responsible? If Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s kidney and eyes get damaged, who will be responsible? There is definitely a deep conspiracy behind stopping Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s medicines.
Atishi, while answering a question, said that the Delhi government’s lawyer should appear in court and present the side of the Tihar jail administration, but two lawyers of the LG were personally present in the court for the Tihar administration. Both these lawyers look after the cases of the LG. The Tihar jail administration should send its report to the Delhi government, but it is sending it to the LG. It is clear from these incidents that at present the Tihar jail administration is working completely under the LG Sahab, as per his orders. Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s Insulin is being stopped by the jail administration under a conspiracy.
Atishi said that after so long, the Tihar administration wrote a letter to AIIMS on Saturday that they need a specialist doctor for diabetes. It means that for so long, the Tihar administration has been lying to the court that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is being medically monitored. Therefore, the question arises that when there is no diabetes doctor in Tihar, then who is doing the monitoring? What kind of cruelty is this of BJP. What kind of hatred does BJP have for Shri Arvind Kejriwal that he is not being given insulin. The BJP is conspiring to put Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s life in danger by stopping his insulin. Tihar administration is not giving insulin to Shri Arvind Kejriwal at the instigation of the BJP. Therefore, the people of Delhi have sent insulin for Shri Arvind Kejriwal and have sent a message that our Chief Minister’s health should be taken care of.
Delhiites sent insulin, but the jail administration refused to take it
The jail administration refused to take the insulin medicine sent by the people of Delhi to their CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Cabinet Minister Atishi and other AAP leaders tried to give insulin injections to the officials. During this, Ms. Atishi said that the people of Delhi have sent this insulin. Please take it, but the officials did not take the medicine. Atishi said that if the Tihar administration does not have insulin, then the people of Delhi have sent insulin for Shri Arvind Kejriwal. But the jail officials refused to take the insulin. The jail officials are not at fault in this. Actually, it is a conspiracy of their masters, the BJP leaders, to stop Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s medicine. His sugar level should cross 300 so that his health deteriorates and multiple organs fail. Such cheap politics has never happened in the history of this country before. BJP should not do such cheap politics and let Shri Arvind Kejriwal be given insulin.
If Tihar Jail is under the Delhi Government, then why is DG sending a report to LG?: Sanjeev Jha
AAP MLA Shri Sanjeev Jha said that Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s sugar level has been increasing since April 11, which is a danger signal. Shri Arvind Kejriwal needs insulin. He is demanding to talk to his doctor through video conferencing. Despite Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s continuous demand, he is not being given insulin. Any diabetes specialist doctor will say that if the patient’s sugar level is close to 300, then insulin should be given. So that no body part is affected. We want to ask the jail administration why insulin is not being given.
“We feel that BJP is hatching a deep conspiracy in this matter. Tihar Jail administration and LG are involved in this. BJP is repeatedly saying that Tihar’s administration is with the Delhi Government. If Tihar is with the Delhi Government, then why is Tihar’s DG not reporting to the Delhi Minister, why is he reporting to LG. Who is LG to hold meetings? We want to tell DG Tihar to stop this conspiracy. We demand that the location of DG Tihar be investigated. This will reveal how many times DG went to LG. What were the minutes of that meeting? We have full suspicion that they are trying to kill Shri Arvind Kejriwal through this conspiracy. In a way, they are trying to give him slow poison. Delhiites are very worried about Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s health. Delhiites are saying that if the jail administration does not have insulin, then they want to give insulin themselves. The jail administration should take insulin from them and give it to Sgri Arvind Kejriwal. Now this fight will continue at every level,” he added.
Arvind Kejriwal should be allowed to talk to his doctor: Priyanka Kakkar
AAP’s Chief Spokesperson (National) Priyanka Kakkar said that if someone has diabetes, every day is important for him. Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s sugar level had reached 46 in ED custody. Now it is crossing 300. Who are the jail administration and LG to decide that insulin is not needed. Only the doctor will tell this after examining. Permission should be given to talk to a diabetes specialist doctor through video conference, but LG and jail administration have problem with this also. Today a very large number of people in the country are diabetic patients. Only the family members of those who have diabetes can understand why we are protesting outside Tihar Jail today?
