The Aam Aadmi Party has welcomed the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates by the Election Commission. The AAP says that the party is fully prepared to contest the elections in collaboration with the INDIA alliance. In this regard, AAP’s national convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal tweeted and said that the dates of Lok Sabha elections in the country have been announced. I appeal to all the countrymen to vote against dictatorship and hooliganism this time. Aam Aadmi Party works on the real issues of the people and provides facilities to the public. Wherever Aam Aadmi Party candidates are contesting in the country, we appeal to the citizens to strengthen our hands by voting on the Jhadu symbol (broom), so that we can work for you with more enthusiasm.
Appealing to the citizens of the country, AAP National Convenor and Delhi’s CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal shared on his ‘X’ (erstwhile Twitter), “The dates of Lok Sabha elections in the country have been announced. This is a grand festival of democracy. I appeal to all compatriots that this time vote against dictatorship, vote against hooliganism. Aam Aadmi Party works on the real issues of the people and provides facilities to the public. Wherever Aam Aadmi Party candidates are contesting in the election field, strengthen our hands by voting on ‘jhadu’ so that we can work for you with more energy.”
AAP Delhi State Convenor Shri Gopal Rai held a press conference today on the same. The Senior AAP leader stated, “The election commission has announced the Lok Sabha elections 2024 today. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) wholeheartedly welcomes the announcement. The AAP, along with the INDIA bloc, is prepared for the Lok Sabha elections. I feel that the public has also been waiting for these elections since the BJP has been taking advantage of the majority. The public is aware how the BJP has flouted the Constitution of India, the way they have tried to crush the democracy, the way they have described the public order of the country as a mistake in the last ten years. They (BJP) either bribe people or pressurise them through the ED and the CBI for their own political agendas. They threaten people to either join their party or else they will be put behind the bars.”
“The way the BJP has also overturned the verdict of the Supreme Court, the way they were openly manipulating and stealing the votes to win the elections in Chandigarh, and recently their electoral bond scam has also come to light. The BJP has targeted various companies through the ED and CBI, through the raids by Income Tax, to raise money. This is a modern way of recovery, which has been exposed in front of the nation”, he continued.
Shri Gopal Rai also discussed the plight of the farmers. He stated, “The way the farmers were burdened with these unjust laws. When the farmers were protesting, they were promised that their demands will be fulfilled, the were promised that the government will set the MSP. When they came on the streets, spikes were placed in their path, they were beaten with sticks and even shot, they had to give their lives. When the students raised their voices, they were also crushed with sticks and false lawsuits, they were declared traitors in the last ten years”
“Labour laws were also changed or limited, their rights were taken away in the last ten years. When the labourers protested, they were also suppressed and now they are unemployed. The biggest problem is that today’s youth is suffering the most from unemployment, they are threatened and beaten whenever they raise their voice,” the AAP Delhi State Convenor said.
“Their undeclared dictatorship and corruption, has been going on in the country for 10 years through electoral bonds has now been exposed. The announcement of election today marks the beginning of the public rule. The election commission has announced the elections in seven phases. This is the only chance to raise your voice. Nobody in the country, whether the public or the media, has the freedom of speech in the BJP ruled country, the upcoming election is the only way out. I feel that the upcoming Lok Sabha election is the only opportunity for the public to express their pain and outrage”, he continued.
“The AAP, along with the INDIA alliance, will fight the elections and we are hopeful that we will win. These elections provide an opportunity to the public to end the modern corruption in India, to reinstate the constitution of India and democracy”, he added.
Answering media questions, Shri Gopal Rai said that Aam Aadmi Party is fully prepared for the elections. He stated, “There are elections in Delhi in the sixth phase, even if we were in the third phase, we were ready. We have launched election campaigns wherever we are contesting elections. Election campaigns have been successfully launched in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat. Now that the elections have been announced, we will design the election program according to the phases and organize Arvind Kejriwal’s meetings, rallies, road shows.”
