The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) mobilized a powerful message against BJP’s dictatorship through a spirited cycle rally under the banner ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’. Setting off from the party headquarters at Rouse Avenue, Delhi, AAP’s Delhi State Convener and Cabinet Minister, Shri Gopal Rai, alongside INDIA alliance candidate for New Delhi Lok Sabha seat, Shri Somnath Bharti, rallied youth support. Bedecked in T-shirts and caps emblazoned with ‘Jail ka Jawab Se Vote’, the enthusiastic cyclists traversed the streets, spreading awareness about the imperative to oust the authoritarian regime at the Centre. Emphasizing the significance of curbing BJP’s dominance to safeguard democracy, Shri Gopal Rai reiterated AAP’s commitment to engaging with the people through various platforms to combat dictatorship and uphold constitutional values.
Shri Gopal Rai said that within Delhi, the AAP is continuously running a campaign among the public in different ways against the dictatorship of the BJP. Earlier, we carried forward our campaign among the people through ‘Walkathon’ and today we are spreading the message among the people through ‘Cyclothon’ that this time it is very important to end the dictatorship of the BJP to save the country. It is necessary to save the Constitution and democracy. Through the Cyclothon, this team spread the message of saving the Constitution and democracy.
During this, Shri Somnath Bharti, candidate of INDIA alliance from New Delhi Lok Sabha, said that now everyone in Delhi is saying that all the seven seats will go to INDIA alliance. Delhiites are saying that the BJP has destroyed the Constitution and democracy. A sitting Chief Minister was picked up by the BJP and put in jail without any evidence. By putting Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail, the BJP wants to prove that it is very scared of its defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. The Supreme Court took cognizance of the flouting of the Constitution and said that there should be some ‘level playing field’ within the democracy. After Shri Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail, a message has been sent to the entire country that there is still some organization which is concerned about the democracy and constitution of the country, he said.
AAP’s student wing (CYSS) leader Ms. Vandana Singh stated that today the student wing of the AAP organized a cycle rally from AAP Headquarters to India gate demonstrating support to the AAP and Shri Arvind Kejriwal. “Shri Arvind Kejriwal left his IRS job and risked everything just to serve the people. He has worked for the welfare of people for years; he has worked in slums and became the voice of people even before he became the Chief Minister of Delhi. After becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi, he did a lot of work for the welfare of the people of Delhi that included improving the condition of government schools and hospitals, free bus travel for women, free water and electricity supply,” she added.
“Such a sitting Chief Minister was arrested right before the elections, solely based on false testimonies. This is injustice, a big betrayal with the country’s democracy. The youth and students of this country have come out on the streets against this dictatorship. The youth of the country stand with Shri Arvind Kejriwal, we will fight till our last breath to save the Constitution and democracy,” Student Leader Vandana Singh affirmed.
