AAP Senior Leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi held a press conference outlining the party’s stance on the summon of Rouse Avenue Court to Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal regarding missed ED summons. Atishi said that the party respects the order of the court and will present its stance on the case before the court on the given date and highlight how these 5 summons from ED are illegal and unlawful.
The leader said that these ED summons are part of the conspiracy to stop CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal from campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections and arrest him. By using investigating agencies like ED, the BJP wants the Delhi CM to go to its investigating agency’s office and get him arrested.
AAP Senior Leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi, stated, “As it is known to everyone, Rouse Avenue Court has summoned Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and asked him to appear in court. We respect the decision of the court and will present our side in front of the court bench. We will explain to the court why Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal did not go to the ED even after 5 summons from the agency.”
She further stated, “Firstly, we will inform the court that all 5 summons sent by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) were 100% illegal and unlawful. After receiving every summon from the ED, the Delhi Chief Minister responded to them in writing, detailing the illegal components of the summons. He posed various questions through his responses to ED, but the investigating agency never replied. Additionally, despite 5 summons, ED could not prove the legality of its summons.”
Atishi added that the lack of response from ED to the letters of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is proof that ED does not have any evidence to establish the legality of its summons.
Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi said, “Secondly, we will also inform the court about how, just before the release of the summons from ED, BJP, through a press conference, predicted that CM Arvind Kejriwal would go to jail. BJP mentioned in its press conference in advance that ED is going to arrest Arvind Kejriwal soon. Immediately after the press conference of BJP, ED sent the summon to CM Arvind Kejriwal. This chronology of events proves that ED summons are politically motivated and illegal. This shows that it is a conspiracy to call Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to ED and arrest him there.”
She added that the same chronology was repeated each time during every summon. We will inform the court about this correlation between the BJP’s press conferences and ED summons and the BJP’s conspiracy to get CM Arvind Kejriwal arrested.
Atishi said, “Thirdly, we will also inform the court that we have been asking ED time and again that for the past two years, they have been investigating the so-called alleged liquor scam, but they never approached or sent a summon to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for interrogation. But suddenly, before the Lok Sabha elections, they are sending summons after summons. We will mention our doubts before the court regarding the summons. We will also convey that these summons are being sent to arrest and stop CM Arvind Kejriwal from campaigning in Lok Sabha Elections.”
“Fourthly, we will also inform the court about how, along with these summons, conspiracies are also being hatched to topple the Delhi Government. Operation Lotus is being started again, people from the BJP are approaching AAP MLAs for poaching and offering them money and tickets. MLAs are being told by the BJP that now Arvind Kejriwal has received summons from ED and will be arrested soon,” she said.
The AAP Senior Leader said, “Fifthly, we will share the chronology of the past two days with the court. The reality of ED’s investigations was exposed by AAP in which we mentioned that ED is destroying the audio recordings of the case. Despite the orders of the Supreme Court and Rouse Avenue Court, audio recordings of interrogations are not available and have been destroyed. Witnesses are saying that their statements are contrary to what they had mentioned during the interrogation.”
“We will present all our points in front of the court because the court must also know that this is not an investigation being done by ED. Today, BJP-led ED has just one motive, which is to undermine the voice of CM Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP-led central government is trying to defame the Delhi Government by using ED and arresting CM Arvind Kejriwal. The court must also know how BJP is trying to target opposition leaders by using CBI and ED,” she added.
