NEW DELHI:

The student wing of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS), protested against the illegal arrest of Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal during the IPL match in Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla stadium. During this protest on Tuesday, the students wore T-shirts which had ‘Jail ka jawaab vote se’ written on them. The students raised slogans against the BJP government. The students raised slogans like ‘Release Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’, ‘BJP government’s dictatorship will not work’, ‘the jail locks will be broken, Arvind Kejriwal will be released’ and ‘Arvind Kejriwal Zindabad’. The students termed the arrest of Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal illegal and said that the Modi government has kept our Chief Minister, who has done revolutionary work in the field of education, locked in the jail without any proof.

On the students’ protest, AAP’s youth wing leader Vandana Singh said that an IIT engineer and IRS officer became the Chief Minister of Delhi by putting everything at stake, working in slums for many years, raising the voice of Delhiites and the country. Even after becoming the Chief Minister, he continued to work for the welfare of Delhiites. He did excellent work in the field of health and education. He provided free bus service for women and free electricity and water to the poor.

Vandana Singh further said, “It is unfortunate that a staunch honest Chief Minister was put in jail by the BJP government on the basis of only a few statements. A popularly elected sitting Chief Minister was arrested before the Lok Sabha elections. This is completely unjust, this is absolutely wrong. The students and youth of this country are with Shri Arvind Kejriwal. We all stand with Shri Arvind Kejriwal till our last breath to save the constitution and democracy of the country. We all will support Shri Arvind Kejriwal in this fight against injustice and oppression.”
