In a fierce critique of the Modi government and its dictatorial tendencies, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh pointed out that the Modi government has fabricated charges against CM Arvind Kejriwal, following his recent remand to judicial custody after Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) custody. The AAP Rajya Sabha MP affirmed Arvind Kejriwal’s innocence, citing that the case is a manipulation of investigative agencies. He highlighted the court’s order which declared Arvind Kejriwal innocent, granting him bail under PMLA, only to have that decision stayed by the High Court. With the INDIA Alliance set to protest in Parliament on July 1, Sanjay Singh called out the ongoing misuse of power by the central agencies.

Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, while talking to the media, said that the dictatorial government of the Centre has filed one case after another against Arvind Kejriwal by disregarding all rules and laws and misusing the investigative agencies. When the ED court said that Arvind Kejriwal is innocent, there is no evidence against Arvind Kejriwal. The ED court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal and said that the ED is working with malice.

“The ED and CBI work under PM Narendra Modi. When Arvind Kejriwal got bail from the ED court, a stay was taken from the High Court without a copy of the order. When there was a possibility of Arvind Kejriwal’s bail being approved by the Supreme Court, just before that, Arvind Kejriwal was arrested again by the CBI, disregarding all rules laws and constitution. First, he was kept in police custody by filing a fake case and today he has been sent to judicial custody. The court order is yet to come,” The AAP Rajya Sabha MP said.

Sanjay Singh said that the CBI had taken Arvind Kejriwal on a three-day remand. The arguments of the CBI that we heard in the court were also the same old story. For the last two years, we have heard the same old stories, James Bond comics, and fictional events being created, which have nothing to do with the truth. Such stories do not stand in court.

“We saw what happened in the case of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. The ED kept Hemant Soren in jail for five months. After five months, the High Court said that there is no evidence against him. Will the Prime Minister of India, the Home Minister, and the ED apologize for this? How did they keep an innocent man in jail for five months? Because getting bail in PMLA means that the court has to be satisfied that the person is innocent. Arvind Kejriwal has got bail from the trial court in this PMLA case. That is, the ED court is satisfied that Arvind Kejriwal is innocent. The court has written the same thing in its order,” he added.

“The Prime Minister of India is openly misusing the investigation agencies. The Prime Minister wants to run the country’s government dictatorially. That is why we are raising our voices against the central government from the streets to the Parliament. Today, a huge movement has taken place in different parts of the country including Delhi against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. On Monday, the INDIA Alliance will protest in the highest house of the country,” Sanjay Singh concluded.
