The Aam Aadmi Party has directly blamed the BJP for pushing Delhi into water crisis. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said the BJP has deliberately created water crisis in Delhi to keep Delhiites thirsty. The BJP people want that the people of Delhi do not get water and they are hatching all these conspiracies to ensure it.
He said Haryana’s BJP government has stopped Delhi’s rightful water only to create water shortage in Delhi. That is why water production is decreasing. Here Delhiites are struggling with water crisis and there BJP is stopping the supply by hooliganism, vandalism in Delhi Jal Board office and breaking water pipes.
Addressing the media, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said in our society, it is believed that there is no more pious deed than giving water to a thirsty person. If someone is thirsty in the scorching heat and there is no water available to him, there is no more pious deed than giving him water and there is no bigger sin than stopping someone’s water. “For the last several days, there has been a water crisis in Delhi sponsored by the Bharatiya Janata Party and when I am saying that it is a water crisis sponsored by the Bharatiya Janata Party, I want to tell you that the BJP people want that the people of Delhi do not get water and for this, the BJP people are trying their best to put Delhi in a water crisis by whatever means, whatever conspiracies, whatever methods they can,” he said.
Shri Sanjay Singh said water comes to Delhi from Haryana, they have to give water in a certain amount and if they do not give that amount of water to Delhi, then obviously the availability of water in Delhi will decrease.
Reading out the fall in water production in Delhi owing to the reduction in water supply by Haryana in the recent past, the Rajya Sabha MP said on 6th June 1002 MGD, on 7th June 993 MGD, on 8th June 990 MGD, on 9th June 978 MGD, on 10th June 958 MGD, on 11th June 919 MGD, on 12th June 951 MGD and on 13th June 939 MGD water was given to Delhi which is due to reduced water supply from Haryana. The production of water is decreasing in Delhi because we are not getting sufficient water from Haryana and this has resulted in a water crisis in Delhi, he added.
Shri Sanjay Singh said despite repeated pleas with the Haryana government to give us our rightful share, we are not getting our due. We are not asking for the part of water for the people of Haryana, we are asking for Delhi’s share of water, you do not want to give that too. Secondly, when you complain to the LG (Delhi), instead of resolving the complaints, the LG keeps issuing his political statements. He is also interested in how Delhi faces water problem, added the senior AAP leader.
Shri Sanjay Singh said amid all this, when people are struggling with water crisis, the people of Bharatiya Janata Party are creating ruckus, hooliganism, vandalizing office, stopping water supply, breaking water pipes. The people of Delhi have elected seven BJP MPs so that they can solve the water problem of Delhi. Shouldn’t those seven MPs raise their voice for water? Shouldn’t they raise their voice in front of the Haryana government so that it gives Delhi its rightful share of water? Shouldn’t they meet Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Paatil? Some of these seven MPs have also become ministers. Our MLA Dilip Pandey had gone to meet the Jal Shakti Minister with a delegation of MLAs but could not meet him, said the Rajya Sabha MP.
Shri Sanjay Singh said that the Union Jal Shakti Minister and the Chief Minister of Haryana do not listen to us, and many conspiracies are being hatched to enhance the water crisis. Under the leadership of former MP Ramesh Bidhuri, BJP people created ruckus and vandalized the Delhi Jal Board office on Sunday and intimidated the employees. Due to that fear, the employees of the Jal Board are not ready to work today. In times of water crisis, if the employees do not work due to fear of the BJP goons and the offices are closed, then how will the people of Delhi get water? If the BJP wants to fight, do politics or hooliganism, they can do it with us, but they are getting the employees of the Jal Board attacked, vandalizing the office. They are stopping the water supply, he added.
Playing the video of the vandalism and ruckus in the Delhi Jal Board office of Chhatarpur by the BJP goons on Sunday before the media persons, the Rajya Sabha MP said it is clearly visible in the video that a large number of BJP goons under the leadership of former MP Ramesh Bidhuri are breaking the glass of the Jal Board office by hitting it with pots. All those people are wearing BJP’s sash around their neck and are raising slogans of Ramesh Bidhuri Zindabad.
Shri Sanjay Singh said that which employee of the Jal Board would want to work in such an atmosphere of terror? When the people of Delhi face water crisis, the BJP people celebrate with patka (sash) around the neck and pot in hand, this is the drama of the BJP.
He said the BJP is not working to solve the water problem in Delhi, but to increase the water crisis. “This is a crisis sponsored by BJP’s LG, Haryana government and BJP. If Delhi starts getting its full share of water, then the water problem can be reduced. The Prime Minister, Home Minister and BJP of the country are accountable to the people of Delhi,” he said.
Shri Sanjay Singh said the people of Delhi have elected 7 MPs of BJP. There are two ministers from Delhi in the central government. If the BJP and its Haryana government will behave with the people of Delhi in such a way that they do not give water to the people of Delhi and the water problem here continues, then we will definitely raise our voice against it, he said.
The Rajya Sabha MP said it is a matter of great surprise that despite such a big incident of vandalism, no action has been taken against anyone yet. The office of Delhi Jal Board was vandalized, government property was damaged, but the Prime Minister and Home Minister are silent on this. If farmers hold protest, they are called terrorists, Khalistanis and Pakistanis. But no one speaks a word against those who openly indulge in hooliganism like this, concluded Shri Sanjay Singh.
