The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has issued a cautionary note to NDA constituent parties following the announcement of Prime Minister Modi’s new cabinet. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Shri Sanjay Singh, has taken potshots at BJP for the allocation of ‘jhunjhuna’ (toy) ministries, referring to them as insignificant. The AAP Rajya Sabha MP warned that the BJP’s actions signal a move to eliminate its coalition partners, urging parties like TDP and JDU to assert their independence by appointing their speaker to safeguard their interests and democracy.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said, in a press conference at the party headquarters on Tuesday, that the ‘so-called’ NDA government led by the BJP has been announced. So-called because it is still being called the ‘Modi 3.O Government’. What the parties of the INDIA Alliance feared is going to come true. In this government, the NDA constituents did not get any ministry from Home, Defense, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Commerce, Railways, Roads, Agriculture, Education, Health, Telecommunications. They were given only a rattle ministry in their hands.
The Senior AAP Leader further added that the BJP has clearly given the first indication that its tendency and working style of insulting its constituent parties and slowly ending their power has started after the division of ministries. We have seen this before as well. When they were with Naveen Patnaik, they did the same with him. In Maharashtra, they stole Uddhav Thackeray’s bow and arrow (Shiv Sena’s electoral symbol) and broke his party. They stole Sharad Pawar’s watch (electoral symbol). Apart from this, they toppled governments in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh and formed a government in Goa by defection. In 10 years, they have broken parties in the country by poaching, and horse-trading MLAs and MPs. After giving these toy ministries to NDA constituent parties, now their next step will be to finish these parties.
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP said that if by mistake a BJP MP becomes the speaker, then there are three big dangers. First, the constitution written by Baba Saheb Ambedkar will be ripped apart. Second, NDA constituents TDP, JDU, JDS, RLD, and all these small and big parties will be broken and merged with BJP. Third, if any MP raises his voice against the arbitrary bill of the government, he will be thrown out by the marshals. For the first time in Indian parliamentary history, 150 MPs were suspended by the Modi government. It is only said that this is the decision of the Speaker of Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha because the proposal for suspension is brought by the government.
“When the Parliamentary Affairs Minister brings the suspension proposal, the MPs are suspended and thrown out of the House. Since I have suffered the most from the proceedings of suspension and being thrown out of the House by the marshals, therefore the MPs should at least follow my advice in this matter. BJP people shout and say that Sanjay Singh went inside the bar well 56 times in 6 years. But I went there not to fight my battle but to raise the issues of the public. I was thrown out of the House for asking questions on issues like farmers, youth, wrestlers, Manipur, Shiksha Mitra and old age pension of the country,” he added.
Shri Sanjay Singh said, “I would request parties like TDP, and JDU to at least make their own Speaker. This is in the interest of your parties. It is in the interest of Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s constitution, Indian democracy and the country’s parliamentary traditions that the Lok Sabha Speaker should be from TDP. If the BJP does not support this, then the constituent parties of the INDIA Alliance should consider this. If TDP fields its Speaker candidate without BJP’s support, then all the constituent parties of the INDIA Alliance will have an important role in it.”
Regarding the continuous targeting of the people of Uttar Pradesh after the BJP lost seats in Uttar Pradesh, the AAP Rajya Sabha Shri Sanjay Singh said that the way the BJP is abusing the people of Uttar Pradesh and especially of Ayodhya after the election results is very regrettable and painful. The people of UP made you the Prime Minister three times, but now you are abusing the people of Ayodhya? Are you abusing the people of Lord Shri Ram’s city? The entire BJP is together abusing Hindus and UP. UP first gave you 74 seats, then 61 seats, if they give you fewer seats once, will you abuse them? This is the real character of the BJP. They abused Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Dalits and backward classes and then urinated on the head of a tribal youth. They stood in support of the Hathras accused. Abused Jats and Marathas and now after crossing all limits and abusing farmers and soldiers, they are abusing Hindus.
The Senior AAP Leader shared, “The BJP should introspect how much arrogance had crept into the mind of the Prime Minister. BJP members were singing the song that we will bring those who have brought Ram. It is believed in Hinduism that Lord Shri Rama is the creator of the universe, he has brought humans. But Modi ji and BJP believe that they have brought Lord Rama. Lord Shri Rama has broken this arrogance of theirs. On the ‘Ram Van Gaman’ path, the BJP lost everywhere from Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Rampur, and Sitapur to Shravasti. They were wiped out.”
“So first remove the arrogance from your mind. The Prime Minister has won from Kashi with great difficulty. Congress party has got the highest number of votes from Kashi since 1952. Ajay Rai may have lost the election from there but Congress had never got 4 lakh 65 thousand votes from there. So instead of abusing the people of Ayodhya and Hindus, the BJP should look at its shortcomings. Now the Prime Minister has even forgotten the slogan of Jai Shri Rama,” he added.
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP mentioned that the BJP hates Dalits, backward and tribals. BJP is not able to digest the fact that Awadhesh Prasad Pasi, who comes from the Dalit community, has become an MP from Ayodhya, which is why they are abusing his mother and sister. When the former Chief Minister of UP vacated his residence, it was washed with Gangajal (Akhilesh Yadav). He visited a temple in Kannauj with his wife, which the BJP people washed with Gangajal too. This is the mentality of the BJP. Dalits, backward and tribals of Uttar Pradesh have avenged this insult.
“You have made a person a cabinet minister who says that Lord Shri Ram is not God, but he is just a figment of imagination. He says that Ravana was superior to Lord Shri Rama. He doesn’t even believe in the Ramcharit Manas. Do BJP and RSS also believe that Lord Shri Rama is not God, but just a figment of imagination? Do they consider Ravana superior to Lord Shri Ram? Do they not believe in Ramcharit Manas? How did you make Jitan Ram Manjhi, who has such views, your cabinet minister?” Shri Sanjay Singh concluded.
