AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal surrendered himself as soon as his 21-day interim bail ended on Sunday. Addressing the people of Delhi at the party headquarters, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that he is going to jail again because he dared to raise his voice against dictatorship. “Prime Minister Modi has admitted in front of the country that he has no evidence against me… He has put me in jail without any evidence… This is blatant dictatorship and I am fighting against it,” said the AAP supremo.
After taking blessings from his elderly parents and hugging his children at his home, he started from his house at 3 pm for Rajghat and paid tribute at Gandhiji’s Samadhi. Then Shri Arvind Kejriwal went to the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place to take His blessings before reaching the party headquarters.
After addressing the people and workers of Delhi at the party headquarters, Shri Arvind Kejriwal left directly for Tihar Jail. Senior leaders, including MPs, ministers, MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party were with Arvind Kejriwal. Prominent among them were Dr Sandeep Pathak, Shri Sanjay Singh, Shri Raghav Chadha, Ram Niwas Goel, ND Gupta, Pankaj Gupta, Atishi, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Imran Hussian, Rakhi Birla, Durgesh Pathak and Punjab Ministers Aman Arora, Dr Balbir Singh, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Harjot Bains, Harpal Singh Cheema and AAP MLAs and Councilors from Delhi were present at the party headquarters.
Addressing his MPs, MLAs and workers at the party headquarters, AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said the honorable Supreme Court had given me 21 days’ time. I want to thank the Supreme Court from the bottom of my heart. They had given me this time to campaign for the elections. Twenty-one days were completed yesterday, now I am going straight from here to Tihar. These 21 days are very unforgettable for me. I did not waste even a single minute; I campaigned 24 hours a day to save the country. I did not campaign only for the Aam Aadmi Party, I campaigned for all the parties. I also went to Mumbai, Bhiwandi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jamshedpur.
“I campaigned wherever I got a chance, wherever I was called to campaign _ to save the country. The country was important for me. “The Aam Aadmi Party is not important, the Aam Aadmi Party is secondary. The country comes first for us. So, I want to tell the people of Delhi that today I am going to jail again, today your son is going to jail again. Not because I have done any corruption, but because I have dared to raise my voice against dictatorship,” he said.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said one of the best things that happened during this campaign was that in front of the whole country, PM Shri Narendra Modi admitted that he does not have even an iota of evidence against me. We used to say this whenever we were asked that they are saying that we took ₹100 crores as bribe, where did that ₹100 crores go? You raided more than 500 places, did you find 25 paise, 50 paise, ₹1; we must have spent it somewhere, cash must be lying somewhere, was it found in any locker; was it found in Swiss bank, nowhere you found 25 paise, then where did the money go.
“So, in an interview on a TV channel, that TV person asked Modi Ji that Prime Minister Ji, Kejriwal is roaming around saying that you do not have any evidence against him, you do not have any recovery against him, then how did you keep him arrested. Do you know what Prime Minister Ji said? Prime Minister Ji says I believe that there is no evidence against Kejriwal, I believe that there is no recovery against Kejriwal because Kejriwal is an experienced thief. Let’s assume that I am an experienced thief, you don’t have any proof, you don’t have any recovery. So, you just put me in jail without any proof, without any recovery,” said the AAP supremo.
The Delhi Chief Minister said in the history of the country, this is the government that has come to power with the highest majority in 75 years. Once with 67 seats out of 70, second time with 62 seats out of 70, with more than 55% vote share. The Chief Minister of a government with such a huge majority was put in jail without any evidence. This is blatant dictatorship that whoever I want I will put in jail, and he (Narendra Modi) gave a message to the whole country, ‘if I put Kejriwal in jail in a fake case then what is your status, I will arrest anyone and put them in jail’.
“I am fighting against this dictatorship and our country cannot tolerate this kind of dictatorship. Bhagat Singh had said that when power becomes dictatorship, then jail becomes a responsibility. It is everyone’s responsibility to go to jail and raise voice against it. “We are disciples of Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Singh went to jail to save the country, to free the country. Bhagat Singh was hanged to free the country, we are going to jail to save the country. This time when I am going (to jail) I don’t know when I will come back, I don’t know what they will do to me in jail. But I don’t care, they can do whatever they want. If Bhagat Singh was hanged, I am also ready to be hanged. Every drop of my blood is for this country, every moment of my life is for the country,” he said.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated, “Just now, I went to Rajghat with all my colleagues and associates. We paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at his Samadhi (memorial). Gandhiji had ended dictatorship in our country, he is a source of inspiration for us. After that we went to Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place, where we took blessings of Lord Hanuman. June 4 is also Tuesday, Lord Bajrang Bali will do good to everyone. He will destroy the dictators. We do not have enmity with any particular person, but with dictatorship. We cannot bear tyranny. So, June 4 is also Tuesday and Bajrang Bali has many blessings on me, the AAP, and the country. I went to pray to Bajrang Bali that Lord Bajrang Bali, save my country.”
The AAP supremo said yesterday the exit polls came out, get it from me in writing that all the exit polls are totally fake. There are a total of 25 seats in Rajasthan, an exit pollster gave 33 out of 25 seats to the BJP. There must have been an order from above to give more seats to the BJP, so he also said that Modi Ji, here I give you 33 seats out of 25. So, the entire exit poll is absolutely false.
The National Convenor of the AAP stated that the real issue is that what was the need for them to conduct a fake exit poll just three days before the actual counting? This needs to be understood. I also did not understand. Many people are saying various things. One thing is that they (BJP) have committed a scam of (electronic voting) machines, but I have told this to Dr Sandeep Pathak also and I want to tell the same thing to all the parties of INDIA alliance to tell their counting agents to be fully alert. Till the end, even if you are losing, do not get up and leave. Many times, what happens is that after 2-3 rounds of counting, when there is a feeling of defeat, then in despair, people get up and leave. Do not get up and leave.
“The slips of various booths and machines are counted randomly in the end. 5% of those slips are picked and matched with the slips of VVPAT (voter verifiable paper audit trail). The slips of VVPAT are matched like the counting of ballot papers. If even a single slip does not match with the machine, then that election is cancelled. If you do this checking there, it means we can prevent EVM scam from happening. If they have really committed the EVM scam, then we can expose it. So, everyone has to wait till the end, even if your candidate is losing, you still have to wait till the end and get the EVM slips matched with the VVPAT slips,” he said.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “There is also a theory that they have shown so many seats (in favor of NDA) because their people have invested in the stock market. And tomorrow when the stock market opens, there will be such a bumper gain, that they will sell their shares and escape. Another theory is that to put pressure on the bureaucracy for the next three days, an environment is being created to make the officers do wrong things, that we are the ones coming to power. They (BJP) are saying: ‘Listen to us, do wrong things, we will manipulate the counting, we will do everything’. But I am telling everyone again that we have to send our counting agents, ROs (Review Officer), AROs (Assistant Review Officer) and everyone trained (well-prepared). We all have to be alert. It will be of no use if we blame them later, we have to be alert now.”
Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated that apart from this, the theory going around is that if the exit polls had shown less seats yesterday, then it is possible that there would have been a rebellion in the RSS and the BJP against these two (Narendra Modi and Amit Shah) yesterday itself, they would not have even waited till the 4th. So many theories are going around, but we have to be cautious. My opinion is that their (BJP) government is not going to be formed on June 4. There is no need to be afraid of these exit polls, they are playing mind games to discourage you. Don’t be discouraged at all, we have to move forward with the confidence that we are winning. Go till the end with the confidence that you are winning.
“Each one of us will have to fight. This election is not about any party or any leader, this election is to save this country. This election is to save democracy in this country. The democracy for which Sardar Bhagat Singh and Gandhi ji fought, has to be saved. The situation is the same even today. The way we removed the British, in the same way today we have to remove this dictatorial regime. Today I want to thank all of you, all my colleagues. I got immense support from all of you in these 21 days. Now whenever I come back, we will meet again. Till then goodbye!” he concluded.
PM Modi is afraid of only Kejriwal and AAP, that’s why he wants to finish them: Sanjay Singh
During this, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said that nobody had even dreamt that electricity could be free, government schools would be better than private schools. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal made that dream come true. He built Mohalla Clinics, made medicines free, arranged pilgrimages for the elderly, made bus travel free for mothers and sisters. A man emerged in Indian politics who achieved the pride of making Aam Aadmi Party a national party within 10 years. That’s why the dictatorial government of the country and PM Narendra Modi are afraid of only Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party. That’s why they want to end the government of Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party by any means.
“I want to tell the Prime Minister that not one but a thousand attempts will be made, still the Aam Aadmi Party will keep moving ahead by leaps and bounds. The Aam Aadmi Party is not going to stop because of your dictatorship. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is the person who has done engineering from the biggest institute of the country (IIT). He worked in Jamshedpur. Then he worked in Mother Teresa’s institute. He quit his job as Income Tax Commissioner and worked in the slums of Delhi. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is credited with leading the country’s biggest anti-corruption movement,” the AAP MP affirmed.
Kejriwal did not agree to bow down before the dictator, he agreed to fight, for that he is getting punished: Sanjay Singh
AAP MP Shri Sanjay Singh further added, “Prime Minister, you are sending Shri Arvind Kejriwal to jail in a false, baseless, evidence-less case, which has no head or tail. I want to say with full confidence that this case will not stand in the court. The jail lock will break and Shri Arvind Kejriwal will be released. No one will be able to stop him. Modi ji will not be able to keep Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail for long. A baseless case was made, who took the bribe, who committed corruption, the whole country knows this. ED made Sharad Reddy the main accused in the so-called liquor scam and BJP took a bribe of ₹60 crores from him. If anyone had to be in jail, then it should have been BJP leaders today. But the Prime Minister put AAP leaders in jail one by one. Shri Manish Sisodia, Shri Satyender Jain were put in jail, I was kept in jail for 6 months.
“Media people asked Shri Arvind Kejriwal that you are going to jail again. To this, Shri Arvind Kejriwal replied that if needed for this country, I can stay in jail for the rest of my life, but I will not bow down and will keep fighting them. Today your son-your brother is being punished for just one thing that the Aam Aadmi Party and Shri Arvind Kejriwal did not agree to bow down before the dictator, he agreed to fight,” Shri Sanjay Singh concluded.
Political Affairs Committee meeting before going to jail
Before going back to Tihar after the interim bail ended on Sunday, AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with the party’s Political Affairs Committee. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, MP Shri Sanjay Singh, AAP National General Secretary (Organization) Dr. Sandeep Pathak and other members attended this meeting. In the meeting, the AAP Supremo assigned different responsibilities to various leaders and appealed to everyone to stay united to fight this battle.
Sunita Kejriwal was with Arvind Kejriwal like a shadow
On Sunday, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal returned to jail after his 21-day interim bail granted by the Supreme Court ended. Throughout this period, his wife, Smt. Sunita Kejriwal remained by his side like a shadow. She stood shoulder to shoulder with him at numerous election meetings in Delhi. When Shri Arvind Kejriwal left for Tihar at 3 PM on Sunday, Smt. Sunita Kejriwal accompanied him. They visited Rajghat to seek blessings from Mahatma Gandhi and then went to CP’s Prachin Hanuman Mandir to pray to Bajrang Bali. While the CM was in jail, Smt. Sunita Kejriwal acted as a vital bridge between the people of Delhi and the Chief Minister.
CM Arvind Kejriwal hugged his children and took his parents’ blessings, and left to fulfill his duty
Today was a highly emotional day for CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s family. Since morning, a steady stream of AAP leaders and ministers visited him. When he left for Tihar at 3 PM, his entire family stood by him with unwavering support. The self-confidence on the faces of his wife, children, and elderly parents was palpable, reflecting their belief that Shri Arvind Kejriwal will prevail in his fight against dictatorship. Before departing, he hugged his children and took blessings from his parents by touching their feet. His father patted his back and blessed him for victory.
Took blessings from Gandhiji to save country from dictatorship
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal went directly from his home to Rajghat, where he visited Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Samadhi’. He was accompanied by Delhi and Punjab government cabinet ministers, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, and other senior leaders. The CM and his wife sought blessings to save the country from dictatorship by circumambulating Mahatma Gandhi’s Samadhi.
Kejriwal took Bajrang Bali’s blessings
After Rajghat, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s convoy reached Prachin Hanuman Mandir located at Connaught Place. Here he got lord Bajrang Bali’s ‘darshan’ and took his blessings for courage in this fight to save the country from dictatorship. During this, his wife Smt. Sunita Kejriwal was also with him. From here his convoy reached the party headquarters directly.
AAP leaders including Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann accompanied him till Tihar
While CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal was going back to jail, thousands of workers including all the cabinet ministers, MPs, MLAs and senior leaders of Delhi government were present. Shri Arvind Kejriwal addressed all the leaders and workers at the party headquarters and encouraged them. After the address here, the AAP Supremo left directly for Tihar. During this, most of the MPs, MLAs and senior leaders along with a large number of workers also went to drop him to Tihar.
