Reminding the people of Punjab of the atrocities committed by the BJP-led Central government on the farmers during the farmers’ movement on the Delhi border two years ago, Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal appealed to them to take revenge for the injustice done to the farmers and throw the BJP government out of Delhi.
Addressing the public gathered at Hoshiarpur, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that you people had given us a huge victory in Punjab 2 years ago and formed Sardar Bhagwant Mann’s government. You gave us 92 out of 117 seats, thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing so much love and respect.
He then stated, “How many of you are getting zero electricity bills? I remember when we used to go for election campaign last time, I used to say that I have reduced the electricity bills of people in Delhi to zero, I will do the same for you, people did not believe me. Now tell me, isn’t it magical that electricity is available 24 hours, and the electricity bill is zero? There is nothing like this anywhere in the entire country. Electricity bill is zero only in Delhi and Punjab where the Aam Aadmi Party is in power.”
“How did this happen? It happened because we are an honest party, we saved a lot of money by eliminating corruption and we have used that money to benefit you. Mohalla clinics are opening at various places across Punjab. Free medicines and free treatment are available in these Mohalla clinics.”
The AAP supremo said that till date, so many governments have come in Punjab in 75 years, governments of this and that party have come to power. No one gave you the facilities that you have started getting in 2 years under the AAP government. Now we have started improving the schools of Punjab, we are building excellent schools all over Punjab. The work of bringing the children (youth) on the right path has been started, the youth who were climbing on tanks, are now being shown the right way. Sardar Bhagwant Mann has already provided more than 50,000 government jobs to the youth.
“I agree that there is still a lot of work to be done, but only 2 years have passed, and 2 years is not too much. In 2 years, you must have felt that we have elected a good government. We will do all the remaining work now, there is still a lot of work left, Sardar Bhagwant Mann knows what needs to be done,” said Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP National Convenor said this election is the election to form the central government. I have come amongst you today because you have strengthened our hands in Punjab, now we appeal to you to give us these 13 seats in the Lok Sabha, strengthen our hands in the Centre also so that we can also solve the issues that are there at the Centre (vis-à-vis Punjab).
Reminding the electorate of the step-motherly treatment being given by the BJP-led Central Government to Punjab, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “They are exercising absolute dictatorship. The Modi government has withheld funds allotted to Punjab worth Rs 8,500 crore. These funds were supposed to be used in the construction of roads in every village, to build Mohalla clinics all over Punjab. This was the rightful money of Punjab, but by acting dictatorially, the Modi government stopped that money. Right now, Sardar Bhagwant Mann is fighting alone, if you make us win these 13 seats, then Sardar Bhagwant Mann will have 13 hands, he will go and fight in the Parliament for you. Then Modi government will not have the courage to stop your money,” he said.
The Delhi Chief Minister said you have elected the Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab. Today, when the Punjab government passes any bill in the Legislative Assembly, but the governor holds or rejects the bills. This is a sheer insult to the people of Punjab. How dare the Governor stop the law passed in your Legislative Assembly? You make these 13 MPs; they will enter the Governor’s house and get the bill passed, he added.
Urging the voters to give a befitting reply in the elections to the BJP, which ill-treated farmers during the protest on Delhi border, the AAP National Convenor said, “Remember 2 years ago, when thousands of farmers went to Delhi for the Farmers’ Movement, the Modi government did not allow them to enter Delhi. They stopped the farmers at the border, put nails on the roads, and used big bulldozers to stop them. This time, press the button in a way that it throws the Modi government out of Delhi. The time has come to take revenge. Most of the farmers of Punjab went to the border of Delhi. There is no need to remain silent, the time has come to take revenge. These people have started exercising dictatorship throughout the country, this dictatorship has to be ended.”
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said they arrested me, not because I have committed corruption. Elections were announced on March 16, and I was arrested on March 21. Kejriwal did not commit corruption of even a penny, Modi Ji arrested Kejriwal out of fear that if Kejriwal goes all over the country then his (BJP) seats will be reduced, so put Kejriwal in jail.
The AAP National Convenor said and look at their (BJP’s) arrogance, it has increased so much. The biggest temple of Lord Jagannath is in Puri, Orissa. Lord Jagannath means Jagat ke Nath, Lord of the whole universe, Lord of the whole creation, God of the whole creation. Just a few days ago, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Lord Jagannath is a devotee of Modi Ji. They (BJP) have become so arrogant; they even say that Lord Jagannath is a devotee of Modi Ji. He (Modi) has started considering himself above God. And just a few days ago in his interview, Modi Ji said that he is an incarnation of God. “In a few days, they will remove the idols of God from temples and install Modi Ji’s idol. They say that we will bring back the one who has brought Ram. Hey, Lord Ram has brought us. They say that Modi Ji has brought God, they say that Modi Ji has brought Ram. Shame on you! This earth, this universe has been created by Lord Ram and you have become so arrogant that you say that Modi Ji has brought Lord Ram. In 2014, he (Modi) used to say that he is the Pradhan Sevak, in 2019 he said that he is a Chowkidar, today he is saying that he is an incarnation of God. This time press the button (on EVM) that their (BJP’s) arrogance gets shattered,” said the Delhi Chief Minister.
The AAP supremo said the BJP says that it wants 400 seats (in Lok Sabha). We asked them why they want them; they said that Modi Ji wants to do something big. We asked what big work he wants to do, then we came to know that they (BJP) want to end your reservation. Beware of them! “Today, I am telling you people that as long as Kejriwal is alive, no one has the courage to end reservation. I need your support, I am fighting with them, I am struggling with them. We will not allow reservation to be stopped under any circumstances, but we need your support, without your support Kejriwal is nothing. Your dear brother, your son Dr Rajkumar is contesting from here. His button is at number 5, remember the ‘broom’ (AAP election symbol) button is at number 5.
