Reacting sharply to the issue of foreign funding raised by the BJP’s Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Aam Aadmi Party National General Secretary (Organisation) Dr. Sandeep Pathak said seeing their defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP and the Prime Minister have resorted to dirty politics, but the people of Delhi and the country are with Shri Arvind Kejriwal. The case that BJP’s ED is raising is a very old case. In this regard, the Union Home Ministry has filed an affidavit in the High Court saying that there is nothing wrong in it. In fact, whenever the BJP sees its defeat, it does dirty politics by raising such old and fake cases. The BJP has faced defeat in the elections by making baseless allegations in Delhi and Punjab in the past. The same is going to happen this time too.
Dr Sandeep Pathak said we must tell Modi ji that you have been the Prime Minister of the country for 10 years, but you do not even have 10 works to count. The people of the country are fed up with this dirty politics and this time they have made up their mind to bid farewell to BJP, he added.
AAP National General Secretary (Organisation) and Rajya Sabha member Dr Sandeep Pathak and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi held a joint press conference on the issue here on Monday.
Addressing the media, Dr Sandeep Pathak stated that today, the BJP has come up with a new issue. They are now saying that the Aam Aadmi Party has received foreign funds. This is an old matter, and the AAP has already handed over the detail of every penny related to this matter to the ED, CBI, and the MHA. In 2015, the MHA had submitted an affidavit and said that nothing wrong had happened. This issue is old and over, the question arises why this issue is being raised by the BJP again today.
The Rajya Sabha MP said, “It has been the working style of the BJP that whenever it comes to a losing position, it starts adopting all these petty tactics, conspiracies, and dirty politics. You can pick up any instance from the beginning, whether it was the 2015 or the 2020 elections in Delhi, or the Punjab elections in 2022. When they feel that they will not win the election, they resort to such dirty politics. These people start raising random issues. I wonder how come they lose every time and don’t want to understand. The mental state of a person or an organization is reflected in their language. If you look at the kind of language that the BJP and PM Shri Narendra Modi are using today, it will be clear that today they are going through mental bankruptcy. They are extremely demotivated that they are losing after every phase of elections, their hopes seem to be dashing.”
He said if you look at the present circumstances one by one, you will realise their restlessness. First, they created this whole fiasco of the liquor scam and put our leaders in jail one by one. They thought that if they’ll put our leaders in jail, the AAP will fall apart, but they failed, and the AAP moved forward. Then they put our supremo, the National Convenor of the AAP, Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail believing that now the party would definitely disintegrate but they failed again, and the AAP thrived further.
Dr Sandeep Pathak said when the matter of Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s bail came up, they tried their best to ensure that the bail should not be granted. If the Prime Minister had worked so hard for the country, then I wonder where the country would have reached today. Despite their efforts, the Supreme Court granted bail to Shri Arvind Kejriwal, and we are extremely grateful to the apex court for providing relief.
The AAP national general secretary said the moment Shri Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail, they understood that the elections are out of their hands now. Then they started a new conspiracy, Swati Maliwal case, they had put all the possible efforts to escalate that issue, but they failed again. Their strategy fell flat on face. Every time the BJP is attacking, the vote share of the Aam Aadmi Party is increasing. When they did not get any political mileage from Swati Maliwal’s case, they have now come up with the new matter of foreign funding.
He said this matter of foreign funding is absolutely ridiculous, but the country should not be surprised by this. It is in the DNA of the BJP to do this kind of politics. There are 5 days left in Delhi elections and 10 days left in Punjab elections, in these coming 10 days they will bring up many such absurd things. They will make many dirty allegations, do dirty politics but the people of the country have already made up their minds.
Dr Sandeep Pathak said, “I want to say to this to PM Shri Narendra Modi that now you should accept that the people have lost faith in you. If the Prime Minister really wants to do something, then he should do good politics about his work. What a misfortune it is that Shri Narendra Modi, who has been the Prime Minister for 10 years, does not even have 10 things to list during the election campaign. He is using irrelevant topics like Mangalsutra and abusing opposition leaders. Shri Narendra Modi will be known in history for misusing institutions and buying and breaking parties. This is what he will be known for,” Dr. Sandeep Pathak concluded.
Addressing media persons, senior AAP leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi said in 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party government was formed. In 10 years, they neither provided employment to the people of the country nor did they reduce inflation. Today inflation is at its peak. Today, the boys and girls of the country do not have employment, corruption has not reduced, black money has not been brought back. No one has received Rs 15 lakh in their account. So today the Bharatiya Janata Party knows that the people of the country are troubled by their 10 years of bogus promises.
She said they (BJP) are afraid of Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal because whatever promises Arvind Kejriwal ji made, whether in Delhi or Punjab, he has fulfilled all his promises. Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows that when the rhetoric will be confronted with Kejriwal’s guarantee, the people of Delhi, Punjab and the people of the entire country are standing with Kejriwal’s guarantee. This is why, as soon as the elections were announced, Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in a fake liquor scam, there is no proof of a single penny. But due to the fear of Arvind Kejriwal, he was put in jail. However, as soon as they arrested Arvind Kejriwal, the people of Delhi, Punjab, people from all over the country started criticizing the BJP. The love they have for Arvind Kejriwal, the blessings they gave to Arvind Kejriwal, came out in the form of resentment against the BJP, which brought dictatorship to this country and arrested Shri Arvind Kejriwal. The people of the country stood with Arvind Kejriwal ji, the people of Delhi stood with Arvind Kejriwal, the Supreme Court stood with the truth and Arvind Kejriwal got bail.
Atishi said then the BJP hatched a new conspiracy. An attempt was made to level false allegations against Arvind Kejriwal through Swati Maliwal. When Swati Maliwal could not find Arvind Kejriwal, false allegations were made against his PA Bibhav Kumar. But again, God was with us, and the video footage of Swati Maliwal came in front of the whole country, the whole country saw that what Swati Maliwal had written in her FIR was a blatant lie. That video footage exposed the conspiracy of Swati Maliwal ji and the Bharatiya Janata Party. The BJP was once again ridiculed in the country as people started seeing how they are conspiring against Arvind Kejriwal.
Criticising the BJP and its Enforcement Directorate for raking up the issue of foreign funding that had been done with long time back, Atishi said, “And today again the Bharatiya Janata Party has brought a new conspiracy through the ED. Today ED wrote a letter to MHA saying that we are filing a case against the Aam Aadmi Party, they took donations in a wrong way, they took donations from foreign countries. I want to tell the Bharatiya Janata Party that ever since the Aam Aadmi Party was formed, it has taken every single rupee donation with complete transparency and has given the account of every single rupee donation with complete transparency to the Election Commission, Income Tax Department, to every institution in the country. I also want to tell the Bharatiya Janata Party that you can make false allegations against us every day, but the people of Delhi and Punjab will answer these false allegations. The allegations that are being made today, it is not known from where these long-forgotten allegations have been brought, this matter is several years old in which the Aam Aadmi Party has already replied to ED, CBI, MHA, Election Commission,” she said.
The Delhi Cabinet Minister said that I want to remind the people of Delhi, Punjab, and the whole country that in 2015 when the Delhi Assembly elections were being held and it was seen that Aam Aadmi Party was going to have a one-sided victory in Delhi, a similar false allegation was made against the Aam Aadmi Party – ‘Hawala at Midnight’. And for many days these false allegations ran on TV, came in the newspapers, but the people of Delhi did not believe it. “The people of Delhi put their trust in Arvind Kejriwal and gave him 67 out of 70 seats,” she said.
Reminding the dirty tricks played by the BJP just before elections, Atishi said, “Just before the 2022 Punjab (assembly) elections, when the BJP saw that people love Arvind Kejriwal ji, Bhagwant Mann ji, that the one-sided result of Punjab will be in favour of the Aam Aadmi Party, then the Prime Minister stood up and said that Arvind Kejriwal wants to create Khalistan, wants to become its Prime Minister. But the people of Punjab also responded to these false allegations. And the Aam Aadmi Party had a one-sided victory.”
The Delhi Cabinet Minister said there are still 4 days left for voting in Delhi, 10 days left for voting in Punjab, let me tell you that in the next 10 days, every day the Bharatiya Janata Party will make such false, baseless allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party, against Arvind Kejriwal. “But let me also tell you that the people of Delhi have made up their mind, the people of Punjab have made up their mind and the people of the country have also made up their mind that this time in the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going to lose, and the INDIA alliance government is going to be formed. And after June 4, the real scams of the Bharatiya Janata Party will be investigated, the scams of thousands of crores of rupees that they have done through electoral bonds will be investigated after June 4, its truth will come out in front of the country,” she concluded.
