Senior AAP leader and cabinet minister Ms. Atishi alongside AAP and INDIA alliance candidate from the South Delhi Lok Sabha seat, Shri Sahiram Pehalwan, led a ‘padayatra’ (foot march) in Govindpuri, Kalkaji, as part of the ‘Jail ka Jawab, Vote se’ campaign. The padayatra witnessed overwhelming response from the residents. Expressing their discontent over the arrest of their Chief Minister, people vowed to give a befitting reply to the BJP’s conspiracy in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Asserting that Shri Arvind Kejriwal has a familial bond with the people of Delhi, the AAP volunteers made it clear that any injustice against him will not be tolerated and the BJP will have to bear the consequences of their actions.
During the march, senior AAP leader Ms. Atishi said that the BJP has forgotten that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is not just the Chief Minister, he is the son and brother of the people of Delhi. The people of Delhi love Shri Arvind Kejriwal, she added.
Ms. Atishi further said that the people know that it is Shri Arvind Kejriwal who has made government schools world-class and has given the best education to the children of common people. It is Shri Arvind Kejriwal who has considered the 2-crore people of Delhi as his family and has arranged for excellent hospitals, Mohalla Clinics, and excellent health facilities for them. He has given free bus travel to women and has fulfilled the dream of the elderly to go on pilgrimage. The people of Delhi know that it is Shri Arvind Kejriwal who has worked to make their lives better.
The AAP leader continued, “People are very angry with the arrest of Shri Arvind Kejriwal. People know that Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested under a conspiracy. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested on false charges. And people will show their anger at this arrest with their votes in the elections. In this Lok Sabha election, people will vote for AAP and make it win. Whenever the people of Delhi needed him, Shri Arvind Kejriwal stood with them like a family member, sharing their happiness and sorrow. Today, when Shri Arvind Kejriwal needs us, the whole of Delhi is standing with him.”
Ms. Atishi said that Modi Ji and the BJP have made a huge mistake by arresting Delhi’s popular CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. “Modi Ji has arrested one Kejriwal but today thousands of Kejriwals have come out from every street and ‘Mohallas’ (locality) of Delhi to give a befitting reply to Modi Ji’s dictatorship,” she affirmed.
She said every dictator has an end and this mistake of PM Modi and the BJP will prove to be the end of their dictatorship. “By arresting Shri Arvind Kejriwal, they have written the end of their own dictatorship. On May 25, the public will vote to end the dictatorship and atrocities of the BJP, to get their brother, their son Shri Arvind Kejriwal out of jail,” Ms. Atishi concluded.
Meanwhile, people said that they are very saddened by the excesses done by the BJP with Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has treated the people of Delhi like his family. He has taken care of the comforts and conveniences of every Delhiite. He has been arrested as part of a conspiracy. “We will not tolerate such atrocities against our Chief Minister. The BJP will have to face severe consequences for this. In this Lok Sabha election, we will answer this conspiracy of the BJP, to put the Chief Minister in jail, with our votes. We stand with our Chief Minister in this hour of crisis. Our blessings are with Shri Arvind Kejriwal,” the people of Kalkaji affirmed unanimously.
