As deadly side effects of the Covishield had come to the fore, amidst mounting scrutiny, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launches a scathing critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Modi government for accepting donations worth crores from the Serum Institute of India (SII), the manufacturer of the Covishield vaccine.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member, Shri Sanjay Singh, pulls no punches as he asserts that the BJP has no regards towards the lives of the common people. The Senior AAP Leader lambasts the BJP’s acceptance of a ₹50.25 crore bribe from the vaccine manufacturer during the devastating waves of the COVID-19 pandemic, when countless lives were lost and crematoriums overflowed with the deceased. Demanding accountability, Shri Sanjay Singh insists that the Prime Minister owes the nation a heartfelt apology for administering the deadly Covishield vaccine.
Senior AAP Leader and Rajya Sabha Shri Sanjay Singh said that the whole country is shocked to know that BJP and the central government have no regards for the life of the common people of the country. People keep dying, let their lives be lost. The BJP led central government doesn’t care. BJP and its central government want bribes in every situation. They have to do corruption, even if it is in the name of your death. BJP is also ready for corruption in exchange for death.
The Senior AAP Leader made a big expose and said that when the whole country was suffering from the Corona epidemic. It was a big tragedy for the whole world and India. Lakhs of people lost their lives. At that time there was no place to burn the dead bodies in the crematorium. Such scenes were also seen when people left the dead bodies of their family members without performing the last rites. The scenes of the Corona epidemic still come before the eyes, how people were walking barefoot towards their homes. Workers died after being run over by train tracks. Whenever all this is remembered, the soul shakes.
“When corpses were burning in the crematorium, patients were not getting oxygen in hospitals, then BJP was immersed in the game of corruption. BJP gave the contract to make the vaccine to Serum Institute of India (SII), which makes Covishield vaccine. In January 2021, by giving the contract, 1 crore 10 lakh doses were ordered from the company, then the price of each dose was ₹150. After this, when this vaccine came in the market, its side effects created an uproar all over the world. Many types of side effects of this vaccine started coming to the fore. People’s problems increased further due to vaccination,” the AAP MP added.
Shri Sanjay Singh mentioned that in view of its side effects, in March 2021, many countries of the world including Germany, Italy, Denmark, France, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, Norway, Iceland and Austria banned the Covishield vaccine in their country. At the same time, in March 2021, the Prime Minister of India and the Central Government gave another contract to Serum Institute to make 10 crore doses. After this, people were asked to get vaccinated. Everyone was given a certificate with the picture of Prime Minister Modi. But now that photo has been removed. BJP people created a ruckus in the whole country that Modi ji is saving everyone’s life.
Shri Sanjay Singh shared that in May 2021, the price of this vaccine was suddenly increased to ₹600. When people were dying from the epidemic, the price of the vaccine was increased from ₹150 to ₹600. When the price of Covishield was fixed at ₹600 in India, its price in the US was ₹400, ₹280 in Bangladesh, ₹210 in the UK and ₹210 in the European Union. Serum Institute of India’s owner Adar Poonawala admitted in an interview that the company was making a profit even after selling the vaccine for ₹150. Even after this, the BJP people said that you are getting profit, but what benefit are we getting? If BJP is not getting profit, will we let your vaccine be sold? Therefore, BJP increased its price to ₹600 for its own benefit. In August 2022, a bribe of ₹50.25 crores was given to BJP by Serum Institute of India. This is a straight case of quid pro quo. The price of the vaccine was fixed at ₹600 and a bribe of ₹50.25 crores was taken. This bribe was caught openly. Who knows how many bribes these people must have taken under the table.
“When a case was filed against this company in Britain, the company had to pay a compensation of ₹1,000 crore. On Wednesday, it was revealed that people are dying due to this. BJP’s dedication towards corruption is such that even if people lose their lives, so be it. ₹6,000 crore was spent on advertising this deadly vaccine,” the Senior AAP Leader affirmed.
“Why has the Indian government not taken the initiative to compensate the people who have died due to this vaccine like Britain? Why has no investigation been conducted on this till now? Whereas Congress and many MPs had raised this issue in Parliament as well. The reason behind this is that BJP has taken donations from this company. The Prime Minister of the country should apologize to the people of the country with folded hands for administering this deadly vaccine. BJP leaders should apologize for increasing the price of the vaccine from ₹150 to ₹600. You (BJP) should apologize to the country for the donation of ₹50.25 crore that you have taken from this company,” Shri Sanjay Singh concluded.
