The Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai held a Sankalp Sabha in Bijwasan Lok Sabha Assembly of South Delhi. During a meeting organized by the INDIA alliance in support of the AAP candidate Shri Sahiram Pehalwan, Shri Gopal Rai administered an oath to the people present there to ‘answer the arrest with votes’ (Jail ka Jawab, Vote se).
Senior AAP leader Shri Gopal Rai said that the BJP has put your favourite Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail in a false case right before the Lok Sabha elections. We all have to take account of this insult on 25th May. Shri Arvind Kejriwal worked day and night, as a son and brother of every family of Delhi. He made electricity, water, bus travel for women, free pilgrimage for the elderly and built good schools and hospitals in Delhi. The agencies of the Modi led central government have conducted more than a thousand raids in the last two years, but till date not even a single evidence has been found. The people of Delhi will answer the arrest with their votes. During this, a large number of local people were present along with AAP MLA Shri Bhupendra Singh June, Shri Ajesh Yadav and Shri Naresh Yadav.
Shri Gopal Rai said that preparations for Lok Sabha elections are going in full swing, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, and from Gujarat to Manipur. The voting phase for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi is going to take place on May 25. The people of Delhi voted for the BJP government at the Centre for 10 years and gave the BJP a chance to form the government and perform. On one hand, the people of Delhi gave a chance to the BJP government at the Centre for 10 years, on the other hand, by voting for Shri Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, the people of Delhi gave him a chance to form and run the government, and perform his duties. Shri Ramesh Bidhuri of BJP has been the MP from South Delhi Lok Sabha seat for the last 10 years. Today, the entire South Delhi is asking where is Ramesh Bidhuri, no BJP leader has an answer to this. From the day Shri Arvind Kejriwal declared Tughlakabad MLA and leader Shri Sahiram Pehalwan as the candidate from South Delhi, who works day and night for the public, the BJP MPs of 10 years ran away from the field. The Aam Aadmi Party or Ramesh Bidhuri himself did not cut the ticket for Ramesh Bidhuri. The BJP was helpless because it knew that if Ramesh Bidhuri went amongst the public again to ask for votes, people would ask him for an account of his work in the last 10 years. What Ramesh Bidhuri could not do in the last 10 years of legislative assemblies, our Sahiram Pehalwan did more than that in one of his assemblies.
If any BJP leader or worker comes to you, just ask them this question politely, what have you done for the people of South Delhi and Purvanchal in the last 10 years? The BJP leaders should know that this time Shri Arvind Kejriwal and INDIA alliance has fielded Sahiram Pehalwan from South Delhi. If you have courage then field Ramesh Bidhuri in front of Sahiram Pehalwan. We know it very well that the BJP people are afraid of losing the elections, but even changing the candidate could not help them because they know that they have not done any work in 10 years. The BJP has only troubled the public. In the last 10 years, the youth of this country kept asking when will 2 crore jobs come, but they kept raising the slogan of ‘400 Paar’. Farmers of this country kept asking when will they get the right prices for their crops, labourers kept asking when will they get the minimum wages but BJP kept claiming that they will win 400 plus seats.
He said that just a few days ago, our daughters were paraded naked in Manipur, but this BJP government goes everywhere and says that it is a ‘double engine’ government. Manipur has a BJP leader as its CM and the country has a BJP leader as its PM. Our sister kept being paraded naked but they did not feel ashamed, these BJP people kept watching every bit. The BJP did not speak against the BJP MP who did wrong to the sportswomen of our country, our sisters who had brought glory to India all over the world. When she came to Jantar Mantar to raise her voice, she was dragged by the hair and thrown away by the police. Our sisters could not do anything, they were helpless. Today when these sisters are asking what happened to our respect, the BJP is unable to say anything, except the same slogan that we will cross 400 seats.
Shri Gopal Rai said that the BJP leaders are roaming around raising slogans of ‘400 Paar’ this time. And the entire country, UP, Bihar and now Delhi is also raising slogans that ‘This time, BJP will lose’. Addressing the BJP, he said, “it has been 10 years since you came to power, but you have not done anything. But the person who worked day and night for the people of Delhi by becoming a brother or son of every family of Delhi, you picked up that Arvind Kejriwal and put him in jail. You say that Shri Arvind Kejriwal has committed a scam so we have put him in jail. You say that Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Satyendar Jain have committed a scam and hence they were put in jail. PM Modi’s central government has been conducting raids for 2 years. They have conducted more than 1000 raids across the country. But till date no evidence of even the money has been found. There can be no greater proof of Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s honesty than this.
He said that neither evidence was found nor any FIR was filed against Shri Arvind Kejriwal but he was put in jail. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is not a person, he is the heartbeat of the people of Delhi. He has worked wholeheartedly for the people of Delhi. He made electricity, water, bus travel for women and pilgrimage for the elderly free in Delhi, built good schools and hospitals. Shri Arvind Kejriwal passed the budget to give an honorarium of Rs 1,000 every month to every woman of Delhi. Today, if anyone talks about Delhi, they are reminded of Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s name. It makes it clear that ‘Work means Kejriwal, and Kejriwal means Work’.
Shri Gopal Rai said that amidst the elections, our Chief Minister has been picked up and put in jail. Even the British never committed such atrocities. Today, the Chief Minister is not allowed to meet his wife and children in jail. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is a diabetes patient but he was not given insulin for a month. When he went to court for this, he was dismissed. The people of Delhi have elected Shri Kejriwal as the Chief Minister. If you have made him the CM, then this is not only an insult to Shri Arvind Kejriwal, it is an insult to all of us. The account of this insult has to be taken on 25th May. This date is not only the day to make MPs but also the day to answer his arrest by voting, ‘Jail ka Jawab, Vote se,’ he concluded.
