Rallying support against the unjust arrest of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister, Shri Gopal Rai, spearheaded a ‘Jail ka Jawab Vote se’ (Answer to Jail through Votes) ‘Sankalp Sabha’ in Tughlakabad, South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, on Saturday. Amidst a charged atmosphere, attendees pledged allegiance to INDIA Alliance candidate Sahiram Pahalwan for the upcoming elections on May 25. Shri Gopal Rai, in his address, asserted that the Modi government is endangering the health of Delhi’s beloved CM, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, by denying him necessary medical treatment while incarcerated. The assertions sparked outrage among Delhiites, who vowed to express their discontent through the power of the ballot.
AAP Delhi State Convenor Shri Gopal Rai said, “There is anger among the people of entire Delhi due to the arrest of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. There is only one question in the minds of people that on the basis of the allegations of the person on whose allegations the Chief Minister was put in jail, why did BJP take ₹60 crore from the same Sarath Reddy? Why did Sarath Reddy get bail? BJP has taken a bribe of ₹60 crores in the name of the alleged liquor scam. The one who gave the bribe and the one who took it, both are out of jail. And they have thrown an honest Chief Minister into jail without any facts or evidence. This has angered the people of Delhi, because Shri Arvind Kejriwal is not just an individual, but he is the Chief Minister elected by the votes of lakhs of people.
“There was anger among the people about the arrest, but now the CM is being treated like terrorists in the jail, he is tortured for everything. Today he is not being allowed to meet his wife and children face to face. This has never happened in history. He is a diabetes patient. The Chief Minister of Delhi is saying that he needs insulin, but the Modi government is not ready to even give him a dose of insulin. What do they want? They are playing with the life of an elected Chief Minister,” the AAP Delhi State Convenor stated.
Shri Gopal Rai further added that the anger in the hearts of the people of Delhi, is increasing. And the people of Delhi will respond to all these atrocities and jails with the power of their votes. Today I have asked people to take out ‘jhadu’ from their homes. ‘Jhadu’ not only cleans the dirt, but also helps in curing the person whose mind gets damaged. The people of Delhi have made Shri Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister with the power of this ‘jhadu’. This power of ‘jhadu’ will answer the jail by voting on 25th May, and will liberate the country from this dictatorial government.
Answering the questions related to Arvind Kejriwal’s insulin deprivation, Shri Gopal Rai said that I have only one appeal to the people of BJP that do not play with the life of Shri Arvind Kejriwal. This world knows everything, what is true, and where the fraud is happening. You won’t let me meet family members, won’t let me eat, what do you want to do? Every prisoner has the right to go to the hospital and get himself examined. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is saying that let me talk to our doctor through video conferencing. What is the crime in talking to one’s doctor through video conferencing? Will the country’s Prime Minister, Home Minister and LG answer this? The doctor will decide what should happen and what not. Why is Shri Arvind Kejriwal not being allowed to talk to his doctor? Whatever the doctor says will happen or will the administration decide everything? Now LG, Home Minister and Prime Minister have become doctors. After all, what is the matter that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is not being allowed to consult his doctor even through video conferencing? What is the conspiracy behind this? BJP should answer this.
