In the latest revelation, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has uncovered a plot by the BJP to impose President’s rule in Delhi. AAP Chief Spokesperson (National), Priyanka Kakkar, asserted that despite multiple attempts by the BJP to destabilize the Kejriwal government, the resilient people of Delhi have thwarted their efforts each time. With the looming threat of ‘Operation Lotus’, Priyanka Kakkar affirmed that Delhiites are prepared to respond decisively in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. She emphasized the unconstitutional nature of imposing President’s rule, highlighting the Kejriwal government’s proven majority in February’s assembly session with a vote of confidence.
The chief spokesperson (National), Priyanka Kakkar, addressing the press at the party headquarters on Friday, stated that credible and reliable sources have provided information that there is an ongoing conspiracy to impose President’s rule in Delhi. The BJP has been consistently engaging in unconstitutional activities in Delhi, and imposing President’s rule in Delhi would also be unconstitutional. Despite CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal proving his majority in the Delhi Legislative Assembly through a floor test in February 2024, the BJP is making all the negative attempts to impose President’s rule in Delhi.
The Chief AAP Spokesperson (National) continued, “In 2013 and 2015, a significant section of the country was influenced by Modi Ji’s promises. He spoke about providing petrol at ₹35, equalizing the price of one rupee to one dollar, giving two crore jobs to youth and unemployed every year, and ensuring ₹15 lakhs in every bank account. However, the people of Delhi did not buy the Modi Ji’s promises, and instead, overwhelmingly elected Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s government with a substantial majority. In 2020, Amit Shah conducted a door-to-door election campaign. BJP’s senior leaders attempted to disrupt Delhi’s harmony through provocative speeches. However, the people of Delhi responded with a resounding victory for Shri Arvind Kejriwal, rejecting BJP’s negative politics.”
“Despite living in Delhi for the past 10 years, Modi Ji could not win Delhi. Moreover, in 2022, the MCD bid farewell to the BJP as well. BJP engaged in negative politics by attempting to tarnish our leaders’ reputations. They disqualified 20 of our MLAs without due process. Nearly 230 cases were filed against our leaders and 200 of them got acquitted. Gradually, the remaining cases will also get resolved with acquittals. They scrutinized nearly 400 files under the Shunglu Committee, and we emerged clean. Our ‘services’ were snatched away. Despite all these challenges, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal continued to work tirelessly,” she said.
Priyanka Kakkar further added that in Delhi, electricity is available 24×7. The first 200 units are free, the next 400 units are charged at half the rate, and there has been no increase in electricity tariff on other slabs since 2015. Free education is available in Delhi, along with excellent healthcare facilities. As a result, not only people from Delhi but also from other parts of the country and abroad come here for treatment. Bus travel is free for women in Delhi, and senior citizens get free pilgrimage facilities. Additionally, a scheme of providing one ₹1,000 per month to women is also going to be implemented soon.
“Despite all this, the Kejriwal government has always presented a budget with surplus revenue because it is an honest government that does not fill its pockets. Modi Ji’s and the BJP cannot replicate this model in any BJP-ruled state. Therefore, they have been trying to stop Shri Arvind Kejriwal since the beginning. Now, under a planned conspiracy, they are sending nonsensical documents to the Home Ministry using the Delhi LG, so that the groundwork for imposing President’s rule can be laid. But BJP’s actions, like others, will be unconstitutional,” she affirmed.
The AAP Chief Spokesperson (National) mentioned that under false charges, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been trapped as a part of their conspiracy. There is neither an FIR nor a trial initiated in this false and fabricated case, nor has a single penny been recovered. Yet, Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been incarcerated based on the statements of two approvers. The law under which he has been imprisoned was originally designed for drug mafia and terrorists. After repeatedly losing elections in Delhi, the failure of ‘Operation Lotus’, and hindrance in work caused by the LG, the BJP is now making a new attempt to impose President’s rule.
“Shri Arvind Kejriwal has explained to the BJP and Modi Ji many times that Delhi can only be won with love. The people of Delhi are kind, and they do not appreciate negative efforts. This has been seen in many past elections in 2013, 2015, 2020 and 2022, and it will be seen in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as well. The people of Delhi prefer positive politics, which Shri Arvind Kejriwal represents. BJP needs to understand the voice of the people of Delhi and put an end to such conspiracies, otherwise they will face a strong backlash in the upcoming parliamentary elections,” Priyanka Kakkar concluded.
