The allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) against the BJP regarding the MLAs poaching in Delhi are proving to be true. Businessman and Cabinet Minister in the Delhi government, Raaj Kumar Anand, who faced a 23-hour raid by the ED in November 2023, resigned from his position and primary membership of AAP on Wednesday.
Responding to his sudden resignation, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh told reporters that it has now been proven that the BJP arrested Shri Arvind Kejriwal with the intention of finishing off the AAP. We have been saying from day one that the purpose behind the ED’s actions is not to expose corruption but to topple the AAP government in Delhi and Punjab. Today, it’s a test for every minister and MLA of the AAP whether they will be remembered as brave or cowardly in the future. Soon, the whole country will see when BJP leaders garland Raaj Kumar Anand and include him in the BJP.
Senior AAP leaders, Shri Sanjay Singh and Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj, held a joint press conference at the party headquarters regarding the resignation of Delhi Cabinet Minister Raaj Kumar Anand. During this, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said, “We have been repeatedly asked why the AAP claims that attempts are being made to break the party and MLAs through the raids of the ED. We have said many times before that behind arresting Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the real intention is to break the AAP.”
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP continued, “The purpose of the ED’s action is not to expose any investigation or corruption but to dismantle the AAP. The BJP is the most criminal party of this country. The BJP’s only work is to use the ED, the CBI to break MLAs and ministers and then include them in their party. They have done this work in Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh as well.”
MP Shri Sanjay Singh further added that these are the testing times for the AAP. This time it is a test for every minister and MLA. “The time to come will tell whether we will be remembered as brave or remembered as cowards. History will record how the AAP confronted the corrupt, dishonest, and hooligan party BJP. He is the same Raaj Kumar Anand, who was raided by the ED for 23 hours. At that time, the entire BJP was shouting that Raaj Kumar Anand is corrupt. Soon everyone will see the real move, character, and face of the BJP, the one they called corrupt, when JP Nadda, Amit Shah, along with the top leadership of the BJP will induct them in the BJP offering the BJP’s garland. After that, BJP members will walk with black marks on their faces,” he added.
“BJP’s only character is to break opposition parties, overthrow governments, and end democracy and the constitution. But the committed ministers, MLAs, and workers of the AAP will face these adverse situations. Even after the arrest of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Shri Manish Sisodia, the entire party remains united,” he affirmed.
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP mentioned that the media repeatedly asked on what basis they (AAP) are alleging that they’re (BJP) is contacting AAP MLAs to poach, all of that was baseless. “But now everyone must have realized that we were not just talking in the air but stating the truth. BJP’s intention was clear, to arrest Shri Arvind Kejriwal and break the AAP. We stood with the truth before, we are with truth today, and will continue to do so in the future. Raaj Kumar Anand may deserve sympathy because of his family. Maybe he couldn’t withstand the pressure. But it’s in such times that the test of the brave happens. We have also received information that Raaj Kumar Anand has received an ED notice for April 12. Perhaps that’s why he couldn’t bear the pressure,” he reasoned.
“When Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that the BJP is trying to buy MLAs and break the AAP, no one believed it. Now, they must have believed it. Whenever Raaj Kumar Anand joins BJP, national president JP Nadda or whoever includes him; ask them about their ‘jumla’ of ‘Na khaaonga, na khane doonga’ (Neither I will take bribe, nor I will let them) and ‘party with difference’. The BJP should also be asked why PM Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Anurag Thakur, BJP Delhi State President, Virendra Sachdeva, Manoj Tiwari called him corrupt when the ED raided Raaj Kumar Anand’s place for 23 hours. Now why are you including such a person in your party?” he shared.
Delhi’s Cabinet Minister and senior AAP leader Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj also reiterated the real motive of arresting Shri Arvind Kejriwal. He said that resignation of Delhi MLA Shri Raaj Kumar Anand from the Arvind Kejriwal-led Cabinet proves the point which the AAP and Shri Arvind Kejriwal have been making for a long time now. The BJP led central government wants to break and crush the AAP and topple their governments in Delhi and Punjab either by hook or by crook. They are threatening the AAP leaders to either switch to the BJP or face consequences and Shri Raaj Kumar Anand’s resignation is one such example. He got scared by the BJP’s threats and has quit the party in order to protect himself and his family from the BJP’s atrocities.
Cabinet Minister Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “Like Shri Sanjay Singh said, today is that for the party (AAP) where we can say ‘We said this’, ‘We told you’, ‘We were repeatedly telling you’ that the real motive of arresting Shri Arvind Kejriwal was to break the party and topple our governments in Delhi and Punjab. Shri Arvind Kejriwal was repeatedly saying that the BJP wants the AAP to disintegrate.”
Addressing the resignation of Raaj Kumar Anand and his allegations against the AAP, Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “Many of you may feel that today we (AAP) hate Shri Raaj Kumar Anand, we’ll call him a traitor or dishonest. We would not call him any of these names. Being a family man, he has his kids and his entire family to look after, his relatives. He has respect in the society. In such a case, if the ED decides to arrest him and rot him in jail for years under jail, this thought itself scares him. Not everyone is brave like Shri Sanjay Singh. As per our sources, Raaj Kumar Anand has been saying this to his party colleagues that the moment he starts working actively, he gets a call.”
Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj further stated that if this is how an elected MLA and a Cabinet Minister, coming from the Dalit community, is being threatened in Delhi today, think of what will happen to an ordinary man if they (BJP) form government here. What will they do to the nation if they win the election?
“I will also talk a little about politics. Patel Nagar is a reserved constituency and Shri Raaj Kumar Anand knows very well that if he decides to stand from the BJPs side there, he will lose badly and will secure third position. The only reason why he won from there was because he was contesting from the AAP. He has been in many parties for years and knows very well how the BJP is treated in that region.”
“Despite this, he was forced to resign from the party and his position. Since he has resigned from the party, he is no longer a MLA. Who would do something like this? Even if he had any issues with the party, he could have said that he would complete his tenure, secure his place amongst the people, and then decide which party he wants to contest from. But what he has done is suicide. Why would a person do anything like this? Out of fear? An elected MLA, a Cabinet Minister is being threatened to such an extent that he is doing a press conference from a small room, hiding from everyone,” he stated.
Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj lashed out at the BJP saying, “I think today the BJP should feel ashamed that it has made the condition of democracy so poor in the country. The country whose constitution was written by Baba Ambedkar Sahab, gave people the freedom to love and the freedom to question the government. Today, the BJP has reduced the country’s democracy to such a condition where elected ministers are resigning. It is shameful.”
Motivating the AAP workers, he said that they do not need to be afraid. The BJP has only been successful once. You have Shri Sanjay Singh as an example, who was accused in a false case and kept in jail for six months. But look at him today, he has come out and is roaring like a lion. We have to become like Shri Sanjay Singh, Shri Manish Sisodia, Shri Satyendar Jain, and Shri Arvind Kejriwal, but not like Shri Raaj Kumar Anand. We have utmost sympathy with him because he got scared, but we don’t want to be like him,” he concluded.
AAP is walking on path of Dr Ambedkar in real sense: Sanjay Singh
Responding to a question from the media, MP Shri Sanjay Singh said that after independence, this is the first government in India under ‘AAP’ which has decided to teach Baba Sahab’s constitution in schools. His photo is displayed in all our government offices. The AAP has also given tickets to people of the Dalit community on general seats in Delhi and several other states. In addition, the most benefit of facilities like free electricity, water, and free bus travel is received by the marginalized sections of society. Therefore, what they are saying might be what they have been told to say. They have always praised the AAP for walking on the path of Baba Sahab Ambedkar in conversations. Responding to allegations of Raaj Kumar Anand’s that Dalits were not being heard in the party, Shri Sanjay Singh said that he had not previously made any such complaint, even two and half hours before resigning, he had retweeted my video.
