The Aam Aadmi Party will observe ‘Samvidhan Bachao, Tanashahi Hatao’ Divas (Save the Constitution, Remove Dictatorship) Day on the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar on April 14 on the advice of Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
The party has taken the decision after receiving the message sent by AAP’s national convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal from jail. AAP’s Delhi State Convenor Gopal Rai said that in the message sent by CM Kejriwal from jail, he has said that currently our Constitution and democracy are under threat. Therefore, Baba Saheb’s birth anniversary should be celebrated as ‘Save the Constitution, Remove Dictatorship’ Day in the entire country. He said that on April 14, all our ministers, MPs, MLAs, office bearers and workers across the country will gather and take a pledge in front of Baba Saheb’s picture to save the Constitution of the country. In the second message, the CM has asked all the MLAs and workers of Delhi to continue serving the people of Delhi at all costs, so that no one faces any problem.
A meeting was held at the CM’s residence on Wednesday regarding the message sent by the CM through his wife Sunita Kejriwal. CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, AAP National General Secretary (Organization) Dr Sandeep Pathak, MP Sanjay Singh, Delhi State Convenor Gopal Rai, Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj and senior AAP leader Jasmine Shah attended the meeting and discussed in an over one-hour long meeting the implementation of the messages received from Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
After attending the meeting that was held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday, senior AAP leader Shri Gopal Rai said Shri Arvind Kejriwal has conveyed two messages to us. “Firstly, he has said that even in adverse circumstances, the party and the government have to continue serving the people of Delhi at any cost. People should not face any kind of problem and all the MLAs, all the party workers should connect with the people and stand with them under all circumstances. And help people as much as possible in these adverse circumstances,” he said.
Conveying the second message sent by the AAP National Convenor Shri Arvind Kejriwal to the party, Shri Gopal Rai said that he (Arvind Kejriwal) has said that we are ready to tolerate all kinds of obstacles and all kinds of atrocities of this dictatorial government in jail, but at this time the most important thing is to save the Constitution of this country. As currently our Constitution is under threat, our democracy is under threat, 14th April, which is the birthday of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, should be celebrated by the entire party as ‘Samvidhan Bachao, Tanashahi Hatao’ Divas (Save the Constitution, Remove Dictatorship) Day throughout the country. Wherever there are Aam Aadmi Party workers in Delhi, Punjab and throughout the country, everyone should gather and take a pledge in front of the picture of Baba Saheb to protect the Constitution of this country till our last breath. We will continue our struggle with all our heart and soul to end the dictatorship in this country.
The AAP Delhi State Convenor said based on his message, the party has now decided that on April 14, the entire party will celebrate ‘Save the Constitution, Remove Dictatorship’ Day across the country. And our party ministers, MPs, MLAs, all our office bearers across the country will take this pledge in front of Baba Saheb’s picture at various places across the country, added Shri Gopal Rai.

In response to a question by a reporter on the AAP Lok Sabha election campaign, Shri Gopal Rai said, “The campaign is already going on in all the states for the Lok Sabha elections. Arvind ji and Bhagwant Mann ji had already launched the campaign in Punjab, the campaign is going on there. The ‘Jail ka jawab, Vote se’’ campaign has started in Delhi too. Our campaign is on in Assam too. Our campaign is going on in Kurukshetra also, Mann Saab has held a road show there. Even in Gujarat, nominations are going to be held soon and a large number of people will gather there at the time of nominations. So, our campaign is going on for all the seats. Next week, we will sit down and chalk out its detailed plan, including the list of star campaigners and then inform you,” he said.
