Reacting upon LG VK Saxena’s letter to the Chief Secretary on water, health, and other services in Delhi, Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said that water and health are under the elected government.
Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “The LG cannot give orders to ministers regarding this. As part of a deliberate conspiracy, LG’s favourite officers are creating shortage of medicines in Delhi government hospitals and are not giving money to the Jal Board. When we tell our problems to the LG, he says that this is a transferred subject and is not under his control? With what authority is the LG calling a meeting of ministers on the subjects transferred to the state government? If the LG is so fond of running the government then he should also win the elections and run the government.”
Health Minister Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the LG should also understand the Constitution a little. He stated, “The LG is talking about water, health, environment, and forests. All these are transfer subjects (subjects transferred to the state government). All these subjects come under the elected government. Which article of the Constitution has given the power to the LG that he can call the elected ministers and give orders on this.”
Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said why are there problems in government hospitals and water department in Delhi? Because LG’s favourite officers are deliberately conspiring to create a shortage of medicines in Delhi. LG’s favourite officers are deliberately withholding the money of Delhi Jal Board, even though that money has been passed by the Delhi Assembly. LG’s favourite officers stopped the funds of ‘Farishtey Scheme’ in Delhi. Under the Farishtey Scheme, if someone was injured in a road accident in Delhi, he was given free treatment.
The Health Minister also stated, “When we went to the Supreme Court regarding all these things, there was an order from the court to release the funds. This clearly means that money is being withheld wrongly. There is a shortage of medicines in government hospitals. There is only one request to LG, that an inquiry should be conducted against the officers who are acting arbitrarily. If the officers are found guilty in the investigation, then take strict action against them. There is no need to pretend like this. The people of Delhi understand everything. The people of Delhi will decide who will run the Delhi government. If the LG is so fond of running the government then he should contest elections against Shri Arvind Kejriwal, get elected and run the government,” he concluded.
