NEW DELHI ;
Senior AAP leader and Cabinet Minister Atishi has said that PM Modi should announce that they will distribute Rs 2741 crore received through electoral bonds among the people of the country, which has been donated to the BJP by 41 companies that were raided by IT, ED, and CBI. “For this, they do not need any law,” she said.
Before the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi’s new ‘jumla’ has come to light. PM Modi said yesterday in West Bengal that he will find a way to distribute the money received by ED from corruption and money laundering cases to the poor of the country. Responding to this in a press conference, senior AAP leader and cabinet minister Ms Atishi said that PM Modi does not need a law to distribute the money received by the BJP from the companies accused of money laundering to the public. She said that after the raids by the ED, the most money has come to the BJP in the form of electoral bonds from companies accused of money laundering. In this case, PM Modi and BJP should announce today that instead of using the Rs 2741 crore donation received from 41 companies after the raid, they will use it for public welfare instead of elections.
AAP Senior Leader and Cabinet Minister Ms Atishi said, “PM Narendra Modi announced that if the ED recovers any money in corruption or money laundering cases, he will find a way to distribute that money among the poor of the country. He also said that if he becomes the Prime Minister again, he will find a legal way for that.”
She added, “I would like to tell PM Narendra Modi that, after ED raids, the maximum money of accused companies was donated to BJP in the form of electoral bonds. The PM is saying that he will have to make the law for disseminating the money recovered by the ED, but it is the BJP who has benefitted the most from the money laundered and recovered by the ED. So if the PM wants to distribute this money of corrupt companies among the people of the country for their welfare, I would like to urge PM and BJP that they should come out in public and announce that they will distribute Rs 2741 crore among the people of the country, which has been donated to the BJP by 41 companies that were raided by IT, ED, and CBI. For this, they do not need any law. They should announce that this money will be used for the welfare of the people, building schools, and hospitals for people instead of election campaigns.
Stating an example, Ms. Atishi added that it is known to everyone that whichever companies were raided by the ED, they bought the electoral bonds and donated money to the BJP immediately after raids and arrests. Firstly, the most famous one is liquor businessman Sarath Chandra Reddy. He was arrested by the ED on November 10. Immediately after this, he bought electoral bonds worth Rs 55 crores and donated money to the BJP. This is the corruption money because he was arrested by the ED. According to what PM Modi has said, this money should go to the people of the country.
The senior AAP leader said, “So, I want to ask BJP leader JP Nadda to announce on behalf of PM Modi that Rs 55 crores that have been received by the BJP from Sarath Chandra Reddy will not be used in the election campaign and be distributed among the public.”
The second company is Future Gaming, which was raided by the ED in April 2022, September 2022, July 2022, and April 2023, giving Rs 52 crores as a donation to the BJP through electoral bonds.
Another company, Haldia Energy Limited, was raided by the CBI in March 2020, and immediately after this, the company donated Rs 105 crores to BJP through electoral bonds.
She said, “So, BJP must announce today that this money too will be distributed among the public and not used in the election campaign.”
The list of such companies is very long: Future Gaming, Megha Engineering, Haldia Energy, Kalpatru Projects, Chennai Greenwoods, Vedanta Limited, Navyug Engineering, Dr. Reddys, Hero Motor Corp, and others, which were raided by ED, CBI, and IT, and then the corruption money went to the BJP.
The AAP senior leader said, “So, PM might have to make a law for distributing the corruption money; he is seeking votes by making such promises. But there is no law requiring the BJP to distribute the corruption money present in their accounts. The BJP must announce today that this money will not be used in the election campaign and will be distributed among the people of the country.
