“We have Lord Shri Krishna with us in the form of you people. Just like Kauravas, they (BJP) have everything, all the powers, from the CBI to ED, but we have our ‘Dharma’ with us. This is the fight between justice and injustice, the fight of righteousness and unrighteousness. Now you have to choose which side you are on,” AAP’s National Convenor Shri Arvind Kejriwal kickstarted the party’s Lok Sabha campaign for the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha with these sentiments.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) commenced its campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Kurukshetra, Haryana, with a fervent call for change. Under the banner of “Badlenge Kurukshetra – Badlenge Haryana, abki baar INDIA ko Jitana,” AAP’s National Convener and Delhi CM, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, alongside Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann, launched the campaign. Addressing the public, Shri Arvind Kejriwal emphasized the significance of electing representatives who prioritize the welfare of the people over political aspirations. He aimed at the absence of BJP MPs in Haryana during instances of violence against women wrestlers, assaults on job-seeking youth, and attacks on farmers, attributing their inaction to their allegiance to the BJP.
During this, AAP’s National Convenor Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated that one month later, there would be the Lok Sabha elections. The Model Code of Conduct could be implemented at any time. This time, AAP’s Shri Sushil Gupta is the candidate from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency in Haryana on behalf of the INDIA Alliance. “Many parties will come to you and make big promises. But I will talk about you, your family, and your children. Think about yourself, your home, and your country, why get involved in the affairs of these other parties? In the last 75 years, these parties and leaders have looted the country,” he added.
The AAP National Convenor continued, “In this election, you have to choose your own Member of Parliament. Now you have to decide whom to vote for. For the last 10 years, you have been winning the BJP all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. What have these 10 BJP MPs done for the people of Haryana in the last 10 years? If any of these ten MPs have done any work, I will quit politics. Unfortunately, none of them has done any work in these 10 years. These 10 MPs are not the representatives of the people of Haryana, but they are the MPs of the BJP and slaves of the BJP. They act according to the BJP’s orders.”
“In the last 10 years, when so many difficulties befell the people of Haryana, where were the BJP MPs? There were atrocities, wrongdoings, and harassment against the daughters of Haryana (women wrestlers). When these daughters went to protest in Delhi, they were beaten with sticks. I went to support these daughters at Jantar Mantar. But the 10 BJP MPs elected by you were sitting and clapping. When your daughters were being harassed, these BJP MPs were busy partying at home. Just recently, when the farmers of Haryana wanted to go to Delhi, they were stopped at the border. What was the fault of those farmers? The farmers are just demanding fair prices for their crops, which they rightfully deserve. But in return, they faced bullets from above,” Shri Arvind Kejriwal mentioned.
The AAP National Convenor further added that they (BJP) don’t have the courage to fire bullets at China and Pakistan. As a result, a farmer from Punjab lost his life. When tear gas, rubber bullets, and lathis were being used on the farmers, these BJP MPs were clapping. They were enjoying it. Last year, the crops of farmers all over Haryana were destroyed, and the farmers were ruined. Farmers take loans to grow crops and then have to pay separate interest on top of it. The farmers were demanding compensation for their destroyed crops, but the Khattar government didn’t give anyone any compensation. These MPs didn’t raise your voice. When unemployed youths were demanding jobs on the streets and the police were beating them with sticks, where were these MPs? These MPs were clapping and making a mockery of the unemployment of the youth.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal also raised his concerns over the Indian nationals stuck in the Ukraine-Russia war due to unemployment issues. He stated, “The BJP government shamelessly surpassed all the limits when the Khattar government sent your children to Ukraine to die in the war. I am deeply pained by this. While other nations try to extract their citizens from war-stricken regions, here the Khattar government has taken advantage of the youth’s unemployment and has sent these unemployed youths to Ukraine under the false promises of employment. Now they’re stuck in those regions, struggling to save their lives in the war. I see videos every day where those people are requesting their parents to bring them back. Where were these MPs when all of this was happening?”
Shri Arvind Kejriwal, in line with this, requested the people to not commit the mistake of choosing these people as their MPs again. He appealed to the people by saying, “Don’t wait until this time that we have to make the Prime Minister, that will happen later. We need to make the MPs this time. Choose an MP first, who will be there for you, in your good and bad times. If you choose Shri Sushil Gupta as your MP, then you can easily go up to his house to raise your concerns, you can protest from his home and rest there considering it your own home.”
“Businesspersons from Haryana come up to me with their issues, including small-scale businessmen, will then be able to go to Sushil Gupta. He understands their plight since he has experienced everything himself. If the businesspersons face any issue, they’ll know that they have their own representative in the Parliament, who will raise their issues. You need to choose someone who is not serving the BJP, is not their slave, and doesn’t eat the bread they give. Sushil Gupta will voice your issues in the Parliament, choose him this time so that he can raise your voice. Don’t fall into the trap of waiting to choose your own PM”, he added.
The AAP National Convener also talked about the farmers and their rights. He stated, “Sushil Gupta will also raise the issues of the farmers in the Parliament. Nobody from those 10 BJP MPs has the courage to raise their voice for the farmers or the businessmen. You have to send one of your own to speak up for you. No MP from the BJP will ever speak up for you.”
The AAP Supremo also took potshots at the false confidence of the BJP and their leaders who are claiming across the nation that they will anyway get a majority of 370 seats. “They are publicly saying that they will get 370 seats, whether you vote or not. They are publicly boasting that they don’t need your votes to win. Why would you vote for such arrogant people? I have come from Delhi with my hands folded, and I’m asking for your blessings and your votes. Sushil Gupta is going to every doorstep, seeking your blessings and requesting your support and votes. We are appealing for your votes with our hands folded. The BJP doesn’t need your votes, they are anyway saying that they’ll get 370 seats. If they don’t need your votes, then I request you to vote for me. I don’t know where they’ll bring their votes from if they don’t need public support.”
Shri Arvind Kejriwal further stated that there are two kinds of people across the nation today. Every person is either a true patriot or an ‘Andh Bhakt’ of the BJP. Those who are patriotic can side with me, and those who are ‘Andh Bhakt’, can side with them. We don’t need ‘Andh Bhakts’ with us. The Khattar government has ruined Haryana in the last 10 years and every child in the region wants the government to change. If we win the Kurukshetra seat, then we will ensure that Khattar is removed soon enough after they form the government there.
The AAP National Convenor also announced the election campaign of AAP in Kurukshetra by announcing the slogan, “Badlange Kurukshetra, Badlange Haryana, abki baar INDIA ko Jitana”.
He added, “If Kurukshetra changes, then Haryana will also change. If Haryana changes, then INDIA will win. This is my appeal to all of you. You have to fight these elections for us. Sushil Gupta is one of you, he lives in your neighbourhood, and he hails from Shamlo Kalan Village in Jind, just half an hour from here. He lives here and is one of you. Kurukshetra is the most sacred land where the epic religious war ‘Mahabharata’ was fought. The war of virtue and sin, where Pandavas won despite the fact that Kauravas had all the power, force, and resources. What did Pandavas have? They had Lord Shri Krishna with them.”
“What do we have today? We are also very ordinary, a mere group of 4 people. What do we have with us? We have Lord Shri Krishna with us in the form of you people. Just like Kauravas, they (BJP) have everything, all the powers, from the CBI to ED, but we have our ‘Dharma’ with us. In Punjab, in just two years, we have provided 40,992 jobs and 90% of households receive free electricity: Sardar Bhagwant Mann
During this time, Punjab’s CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann said that today, the beginning of change is happening from Kurukshetra to Haryana. Two years ago, on this day, we won elections on 92 seats in Punjab, and the arrogance of big people was shattered. We had taken an oath in the village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in Khatkalkalan that we would fulfil his dreams. Our government has not even been formed for two years yet, but so far, I have provided government jobs to 40,992 people. Electricity is free in 90% of homes in Punjab. Farmers do not receive a bill for electricity for tube wells and farming. People in Haryana should also receive these facilities. Fantastic schools and hospitals are being built in Punjab. In the entire Punjab, 829 Mohalla Clinics have been established. Where more than 1.25 crore people have already got their treatment done. Now, no one has to be forced to go to private hospitals and private schools. If any soldier from Punjab or Delhi loses his life, his family is given an honorarium of ₹1 crore.
CM Bhagwant Mann said that these people don’t let us work. They stopped the medicines of Mohalla Clinics and electricity in Delhi. The ‘Farishtey’ scheme was stopped. The Delhi Jal Board’s money was stopped. Whenever CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal does any work for the public, LG Sahab stops him. Right now, he’s fighting alone against the central government, BJP, and LG. They have stopped our people’s fund of around ₹8,000 crores. If you give us 30-35 seats in the Lok Sabha, no one will dare to stop the people from getting any work or money.
“Today the country’s constitution is in danger. Many arrogant people have come into power in the country, democracy is in danger. They live in this arrogance that whatever comes out of our mouths, will become law. Even after winning by the people’s vote, they are filled with so much arrogance. But even God does not like arrogance. In a democracy, the people are like God. When the people want, a person is on the throne, and when they start to be arrogant, then the person is on the ground. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has taught us not to do politics of hatred, religion, and caste, but politics of work,” the Punjab CM shared.
Sardar Bhagwant Mann said that 10 years ago, the Aam Aadmi Party, which emerged from Delhi’s Ram Lila Maidan, became the 3rd largest party in the country. We have our government in two states, we have 10 members in the Rajya Sabha, 5 MLAs in Gujarat, and 2 MLAs in Goa. The Aam Aadmi Party is in the Delhi Municipal Corporation, and besides this, the mayor of Chandigarh and Singrauli Nagar Nigam in Madhya Pradesh is also from the Aam Aadmi Party. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, 13 seats are coming from Punjab, one seat from Kurukshetra, and all our seats are also coming from Delhi. This will increase our strength and presence in the Parliament.
