Food and Civil Supplies Minister & MLA Ballimaran Shri Imran Hussain today attended the annual day celebration in Government Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Chashma Building. The function was also attended by MCD Councillor Shri Md. Sadiq, DD (Zone), DD Central (Education), Principal, school staff, school Committee members, invitees, and distinguished guests.
The annual day celebration at GSVK, Chashma Building began by lighting the ceremonial lamp and with performance of Swagat Geet. The students of primary wing performed on welcome theme dance. The senior wing students enthusiastically gave “Save Girl Child” performance which enthralled the audience. The attraction of the annual event was the performance on the theme of “Ek Bharat- Shrestha Bharat”. The line of the performance was Unity in Diversity in the country. All the guests present at the annual event were mesmerized after seeing the performance. Hon’ble Minister appreciated the artwork and decoration of the school by the students with handmade material.
Shri Imran Hussain congratulated school management and students on the annual festival of the school and said that due to concrete efforts of SMC this school was honoured with best award of SMC category by the Education Department, Delhi Government. Shri Imran Hussain said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, his team has worked with dedication to provide quality education to the students of Delhi. This four-storey school building has the facility of state-of-the-art smart classrooms for all students, home science and science labs, staff rooms, exam room, NSQF IT lab, library, MP Hall and toilet blocks in place of a ramshackle building a few years ago.” Shri Imran Hussain further said that in the second phase, the school would get an auditorium hall at the ground level for cultural activity and many more classrooms very soon. Hon’ble Minister assured school children that the next annual day celebration will be held in the new auditorium at Ground level.
The annual day function also witnessed the distribution of prizes and awards in the school. The academic toppers were awarded medals and certificates of appreciation. The Food and Supplies Minister also felicitated schoolteachers for their active participation in the betterment of the education model in Delhi. Hon’ble Minister also felicitated students with special needs who participated and performed in annual day celebration.
