In a shocking revelation during a press conference today, AAP senior leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi exposed unprecedented actions taken by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) during raids, labeling them as a blatant attempt to defame Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal and target AAP leaders. The senior leader disclosed that the ED recently conducted raids at the residences of key AAP figures, including the Chief Minister’s Personal Secretary (PS) and AAP treasurer and Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta. But did not search or seize anything.
AAP Senior leader said, “During the 16-hour raid at CM’s Personal Secretary residence, ED officials did not conduct any thorough search, nor did they provide any explanation regarding the purpose/case of the raid. They just sat in his living room. This peculiar raid may be the first of its kind in the history of the ED, where officials carried out a prolonged raid without documenting the specific case or purpose for the action.”
Atishi further shared a copy of the Panchnama, the record of observation documented after the raid, highlighting that it lacked any mention of the reasons behind the ED’s raid. Normally, during such operations, the ED is expected to conduct searches, seizures, and document the entire process, including details of the case and ECIR (Enforcement Case Information Report). However, in this instance, the Panchnama failed to explain the motive behind the raid on CM’s Personal Secretary residence.
She emphasized that during the extensive 16-hour raid, while the nation watched the drama unfold, ED officials just sat in the living room of CM’s PS without actively searching or seizing any items. Instead, they just obtained downloads of his two Gmail accounts and confiscated three phones belonging to his family members.
Atishi expressed concern over the ED’s conduct, asserting that these raids are part of a larger conspiracy to undermine Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leaders. She said that the real motive behind these actions was to stifle CM Arvind Kejriwal’s voice, as he stands out as a political leader capable of challenging and raising his voice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The AAP Senior Leader said, “ED is selectively targeting AAP leaders and individuals associated with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. ED first decides on individuals to be put behind bars before determining the charges against them. Their agenda is clearly to suppress dissent and eliminate key figures within the party.”
Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi stated that these raids are a conspiracy to silence Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and an attack on the democratic values that the AAP stands for. BJP has now openly put ED on just one task i.e. to put all AAP leaders and people working with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in jail. “But I would like to tell BJP and the Prime Minister, that none of the AAP leaders are scared of their threats of ED and CBI,” she added.
