The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of orchestrating ‘Operation Lotus’ to bring down the Kejriwal government in Delhi. AAP MLA and MCD in-charge Shri Durgesh Pathak on Saturday accused the BJP of attempting to buy ‘AAP’ MLAs. He stated that the BJP has initiated ‘Operation Lotus’ to eliminate AAP under a conspiracy in Delhi once again. The BJP is offering a bribe of ₹25 crore each to our 7 MLAs and promising them tickets in the upcoming elections. The BJP is attempting to contact our 21 MLAs. The BJP has a pattern of using ‘Operation Lotus’ where they cannot win elections, they resort to this to form their government. He urged the BJP to compete on issues like education, healthcare, and affordable electricity rather than engaging in dirty politics.
In a press conference, AAP senior leader and MLA from Timarpur, Shri Dilip Pandey stated that by attempting to arrest CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the BJP is threatening to end the AAP and is making efforts to buy our MLAs. Each MLA is being lured of ₹25 crore to join the BJP, leaving AAP. He stated that despite repeated attempts by the BJP to break and buy ‘AAP’ MLAs, like before, this time too, Arvind Kejriwal’s courageous MLAs prioritized the public mandate in Delhi and rejected the BJP’s offers. He emphasized that even though the BJP can buy the whole world, it cannot purchase the true patriot MLAs of ‘AAP.’ “We have evidence of the contacts BJP has made with our MLAs,” said Pandey.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters on Saturday, senior AAP leader and MLA from Rajinder Nagar, Shri Durgesh Pathak, stated that the BJP is afflicted with a disease named ‘Operation Lotus. “The BJP successfully executed it in several states, be it in Karnataka, Goa, or Arunachal Pradesh. They attempted ‘Operation Lotus’ multiple times in Delhi, with renewed efforts in recent days. They have contacted several of our MLAs, stating their intention to eliminate the AAP. Shri Manish Sisodia, Shri Sanjay Singh, and Shri Satyendar Jain have already been arrested. Soon, Shri Arvind Kejriwal will also be arrested. After that, by breaking all our MLAs, the BJP aims to annihilate the AAP,” he added.
The AAP MLA stated that the BJP has approached their 7 MLAs, offering them ₹25 crores each and promising tickets in the upcoming elections. Several AAP MLAs have recorded the conversation as evidence. The BJP has also contacted our 21 MLAs. Their pattern is clear: where they can’t win elections, they resort to ‘Operation Lotus.’ In 2013, when the AAP won 28 seats in Delhi, we exposed a sting operation against BJP leader Sher Singh Dagar, which revealed his attempt to buy MLAs. Their sole objective is to somehow arrest Shri Arvind Kejriwal and eradicate the AAP in Delhi.
Shri Durgesh Pathak mentioned, “This is why BJP orchestrated a fake liquor scam conspiracy, arresting our leaders, and is now discussing the arrest of Delhi’s CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. These individuals cannot compete with CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s work and policies; hence, they resort to such undemocratic tactics. Wherever the BJP goes, people question them about why they cannot replicate CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s governance. Therefore, these individuals are completely perplexed. The people of Delhi have chosen an AAP government with a majority. Engaging in such conspiracies is undemocratic.”
He said that whenever these people have attempted such actions, we have informed the people of the country. Many times, we have released audio and video recordings. We have disclosed names several times, revealing which BJP leader is trying to buy our MLAs. The public understands, and God is with us. Despite all efforts by the BJP, the popularity of the AAP is increasing among the people. Therefore, fearing Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s honesty, the BJP’s sole aim remains to eliminate Shri Arvind Kejriwal and his party.
“Sometimes BJP leaders Manoj Tiwari and Gaurav Bhatia say Shri Arvind Kejriwal is going to be arrested. This shows that the BJP is working on a script: run a liquor scam, arrest their leaders, buy their MLAs, and arrest Shri Arvind Kejriwal to finish the AAP. When you have the blessings of God and the people, all strategies become futile. I request the BJP to do good work. Compete on issues like education, healthcare, and affordable electricity, but refrain from engaging in such dirty politics,” Shri Durgesh Pathak concluded.
Meanwhile, AAP’s senior leader and MLA Shri Dilip Pandey mentioned that the BJP has no faith in the democratic values and constitution of the country. Despite repeated failures, in recent days, BJP members have been attempting to contact some MLAs of the AAP to break and buy them. In August-September 2022, the BJP made a disgraceful attempt to buy our MLAs, which was witnessed by the entire nation. In 2022, the BJP tried to lure our MLAs with ₹20 crore each but remained unsuccessful.
Shri Dilip Pandey mentioned, “This time, the BJP has contacted our honest and patriotic MLAs, claiming that 21 MLAs from ‘AAP’ are in their contact. Each MLA is being offered ₹25 crore, and there is no benefit in staying with the AAP, as they will soon arrest Shri Arvind Kejriwal and end the party. The BJP intimidates AAP members first and then gives offers. It’s no secret that the BJP, disregarding constitutional values, has spent around ₹5500 to ₹6000 crore, buying approximately 275 MLAs. Wherever the BJP cannot win elections, they buy MLAs of other parties, destabilizing elected governments and forming their own.”
“The BJP overwhelms MLAs with financial offers against the public mandate. However, the BJP’s financial strategy is not working in Delhi. According to our information, the BJP has approached our seven MLAs with similar tempting offers. Therefore, the AAP affirms that the ongoing events within the ED-CBI are a story concocted by the BJP. BJP leaders have called every MLA of AAP, threatening to arrest Arvind Kejriwal, stating that if they leave the AAP and join BJP accepting ₹25 crore each, everything will be fine,” he added.
Shri Dilip Pandey shared that while the BJP is succeeding in breaking MLAs from all parties, the fear is neither working on AAP’s courageous MLAs nor are they being intimidated. The Aam Aadmi Party salutes its honest and outspoken MLAs for consistently prioritizing the public mandate over the financial offers from the BJP. They want to tell the BJP that its leaders seem to have surpassed the definition of understanding humans because, despite repeated failures in attempting to buy ‘AAP’ MLAs, they persist in their attempts. We have evidence of conversations between BJP leaders and our MLAs, and those contacted by the BJP are not afraid.
“We want to convey to BJP leadership that the party is losing respect in the eyes of the public due to such actions. The BJP, disrespecting the public mandate, will not be forgiven by the people of Delhi and the nation. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the public in Delhi and the country will give a strong rebuke to the BJP for its ‘horse-trading’ offers over the public mandate. The nation and Delhi are witnessing the arrogance of money and power within the BJP. While the BJP may be able to buy the whole world, it cannot purchase the true patriot legislators of the AAP,” Shri Dilip Pandey concluded.
