Delhi’s Kejriwal government has started a 3-day grand Ramleela performance at the Pyarelal Auditorium near the ITO complex on Saturday. The spectacular Ramleela, hosted at the Pyarelal Auditorium attracted a significant number of ‘Ram Bhakts’ on the first day itself from every corner of Delhi, who enjoyed the magnificent enactment of tales from Lord Shri Ram’s life for three hours. Delhi’s Minister of Art, Culture, and Language, Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Education Minister Atishi lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the program.

During this event, almost the entire cabinet of the Delhi government sat together, enjoying the Ramleela performance for three hours straight. Cabinet colleagues Shri Kailash Gahlot, Shri Raaj Kumar Anand, and Shri Imran Hussain, along with several MLAs from the Delhi government, enjoyed the entire Ramleela rendition.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, consistently striving to realise the vision of ‘Ramrajya’ in Delhi, will join the people of Delhi on the second day, Sunday, for the grand Ramleela performance. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal shared this information through his official ‘X’ (erstwhile Twitter) handle on Saturday, urging Delhiites to take time and attend the event with their families.

On this occasion, Delhi’s Minister of Arts, Culture, and Language, Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj, stated that we all invoke the name of Lord Shri Ram. The greatest lesson to learn from Lord Shri Ram is his sense of dignity. Lord Ram is called ‘Maryada Purushottam Ram’, and ‘Raja Ram’ and the vision of his ‘Ramrajya’ continues to inspire us all. “We strive to embody the ‘Ramrajya’ envisioned by Tulsidas Ji in the ‘Ramayana’. It is with this effort that the Kejriwal government is organising this Ramleela performance today,” he added.

The Delhi Art, Culture, and Languages Minister mentioned that, under the guidance of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi government is hosting a grand Ramleela event. This is the first time the Delhi government is organising such a program. Previously, the ‘Shri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra’ individually conducted this event, and spectators had to purchase tickets to watch Ramleela’s rendition. However, this time, under CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s visionary leadership, the Delhi government has initiated a beautiful Ramleela program that is free for all spectators.

He said that for more than six decades, the ‘Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra’s Ramleela has been widely renowned throughout India. They present the entire Ramayana in about three hours. Such programs existed before, but people had to watch by purchasing expensive tickets, and due to ticket costs, many individuals, despite their desire, couldn’t afford to witness the Ramleela. “The Kejriwal government’s effort is to ensure that more people can watch the Ramleela, which is why no fee has been imposed. Anyone can come and watch Ramleela,” the minister stated.

Responding to media queries, Minister Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj stated that he has been organising Ramleela events in his constituency. Therefore, entrusting all responsibilities related to religion to a single party is incorrect. Those people want this ‘Thekedari’ (Contractorship). Regarding religion, our clear stance is that all religions are equal, and everyone should be respected. If I am a Hindu, I will follow my religion; if someone is Muslim, they will follow Islam. There should be no trouble for me from them, and likewise, they shouldn’t face any trouble from me.

While addressing the audience at the Ramleela, Revenue Minister Atishi said, “During Dussehra, when we go to see Ramleela across the city, we perceive it as entertainment. But in the true sense, Ramleela will be successful only when we can imbibe even one thing from the life of Lord Ram and implement it in our lives.”

She added, “I hope that with this Ramleela starting today, we will be able to learn a lot from Lord Ram’s life, behaviour, love, and sacrifice, and implement those learnings in our lives. If we can do this, we will be able to make significant contributions to the progress of our society and nation. Our nation will surely become a global leader if we are able to do this.”

Delhiites expressed great fervor for Ramleela

The people of Delhi displayed significant enthusiasm to witness the grand three-day Ramleela organised by the Kejriwal government. The Delhi government had invited people to watch Ramleela, and MLAs also encouraged residents of their respective constituencies to participate. As a result, a large number of people turned up to watch Ramleela. The Pyarelal Auditorium was filled with a huge crowd, and a substantial number of people were seen standing to enjoy the Ramleela performance. Even before the Ramleela enactment began, the auditorium echoed with resounding cheers of “Jai Shri Ram.” Throughout the performance, amidst the scenes, people continued to chant praises. As the performance concluded, people collectively cheered “Jai Shri Ram” in unison before heading back home.
