In a groundbreaking initiative to empower the workforce, the Kejriwal Government proudly unveils a comprehensive skill development program for construction workers in Delhi, dedicated to significantly enhancing their skills and unlocking doors to superior opportunities and improved livelihoods.

To ensure accessibility, training camps will be set up at labour chowks and construction sites across the region. These camps will serve as hubs for skill development, enabling workers to excel in their respective fields. The initiative aims to enhance their skills, opening doors to better opportunities and improved livelihoods.

Recognizing the dedication of workers towards upskilling, the Kejriwal government will compensate for the wage loss incurred during the training period. This financial support aims to encourage more workers to participate in the program without the fear of economic setbacks. The government is committed to adhering to Recognized Prior Learning (RPL) guidelines, ensuring fair compensation for workers engaged in skill enhancement.

The skill training will be conducted in collaboration with prominent project implementation agencies such as the Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), BECIL, and the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO). The decision to engage these agencies reflects the government’s dedication to providing high-quality training and fostering a culture of continuous learning among construction workers.

The primary purpose of these training camps is to equip workers with advanced skills, enabling them to seek better opportunities not only within the region but also internationally. Labour Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand envisions a future where skilled workers can contribute to the global workforce, providing them with the potential to explore opportunities abroad and avail of better facilities.

During this, Delhi’s Labour Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand expressed optimism about the initiative, stating, “Our goal is to empower our construction workers and workers with skills that transcend borders. By investing in their capabilities, we are not only boosting their individual prospects but also contributing to the overall growth of our economy.”

“The Kejriwal government remains committed to fostering skill development and creating pathways for a brighter future for the construction workers and laborers,” the Delhi Labour Minister added.
