BJP is continuously sending ED summons to CM Arvind Kejriwal in an attempt to stop him from campaigning in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP’s conspiracy is to use continuous ED summons to obstruct Arvind Kejriwal’s campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections. Despite sending consecutive letters in response, the BJP is not providing any answers regarding on what basis CM Arvind Kejriwal is being summoned – as a witness, a suspect, the Chief Minister of Delhi, or the National Convenor of ‘AAP’. The ED is unwilling to disclose any information on this matter. AAP Senior Leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi mentioned these points during a press conference on Thursday.
She said that PMLA is the only law in the country under which getting bail is almost impossible. Therefore, the BJP is filing false cases against all its opposition under this law. Today, the use of PMLA and the ED is only being done to intimidate and threaten opposition leaders and to break opposition parties. If any opposition leader joins the BJP, the summons and arrests stop, and the ED withdraws cases by going to court.
Ms Atishi said that even after a 1.5-year-long investigation into the alleged scam, the ED and CBI have not been able to present any evidence of corruption, not even a single rupee. Even after this lengthy investigation, the ED has not been able to start the trial in this case because it is purely and solely a political conspiracy. However, Arvind Kejriwal is not afraid of the threats from the BJP. No matter how many raids and arrests take place, he will continue to fight against the BJP to save the country and the constitution.
AAP Senior Leader and Cabinet Minister said, “It is known to all that ED has sent various summons to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal so far in the so-called alleged Liquor scam. In this Liquor scam, the central government has put in all its investigative agencies and more than 500 officials in the past 1.5 years, but they have not been able to find any evidence. This might be the first scam in Indian history where no money is involved and no agency has been able to seize any money.
She added that whenever CBI and ED raid anyone for scam, they recover cash, gold, property papers or shell company papers. But in the past few years, residences, offices, native villages and bank lockers of many AAP leaders were raided, but not a single penny was recovered from any place. Even after 1.5 years, ED and CBI have failed to produce any evidence in front of whole country and country. They have also failed to start trials.
Ms Atishi said, “These agencies have failed to do anything because this case is just a political conspiracy. Now, we are seeing that under this conspiracy agencies are trying to arrest CM Arvind Kejriwal before Lok Sabha Elections. BJP wants that, Arvind Kejriwal is not able to campaign for upcoming elections. This is the reason why, CM Arvind Kejriwal is receiving summon after summon right now from ED. However, it is not being disclosed why they are being summoned. As a witness, as a suspect, as the Chief Minister of Delhi, or as the National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, it is not being specified.”
The ED is not willing to disclose anything on this matter because there is no evidence to arrest Arvind Kejriwal. This is purely and solely a plot to arrest Arvind Kejriwal before the Lok Sabha elections.
AAP Senior Leader Atishi stated that the PMLA law exists in the country. This law was created so that terrorists and narcotics traders cannot be given money through money laundering. This is the only law in the country where it is nearly impossible to get bail under its provisions. However, the BJP has filed cases against all its opposition under this law because getting bail under this law is almost impossible. Under this law, the ED can raid opposition leaders, summon them, and once arrested, they can be kept in jail without bail.
She stated that today the use of PMLA, the use of the ED, is solely and exclusively under the political conspiracy. It is being done to break the parties opposing the BJP. Cases against leaders who join the BJP are closed. What is interesting is that Subhendu Adhikari had so many cases against him, but as soon as he joined the BJP, all his cases were closed. Hemant Vishwa Sarma had so many cases by the CBI-ED, but as soon as he joined the BJP, all his cases were closed. Chhagan Bhujbal joined the BJP, and shortly after, the ED went to court and withdrew its case.
Ms Atishi said, “This means that today, the use of PMLA and the ED is only being done to intimidate and threaten opposition leaders, as well as to break opposition parties. But I want to mention this to BJP that workers, and the Chief Minister of Delhi, as well as the National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal, are not afraid of their threats. No matter how many raids and arrests you make, we will continue to fight against the BJP to save the country, to save the constitution.”
