In adherence to the directives of the Kejriwal government, a joint inspection was conducted at Sardar Patel Hospital in Patel Nagar, on Wednesday. The inspection, led by Social Welfare Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand, Medical Superintendent, doctors and sanitation contractors, aimed to assess and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the hospital and its public washrooms.
Shri Raaj Kumar Anand mentioned, “The 50-bed hospital, serving approximately 2000 patients daily, has 16 washrooms, with a regular cleaning schedule every two hours. Noteworthy is the systematic numbering found in all washrooms, however, the instructions were given to update display plates where necessary. The hospital staff and sanitation contractors are diligently fulfilling their responsibilities, with a particular emphasis on preventing any lapses in cleanliness. Regular entries in the washroom inspection chart by the sanitation supervisor show the commitment to cleanliness standards. Despite a substantial daily patient load of 1500-2000 in the OPD, the hospital maintains a satisfactory level of cleanliness and effective administrative management.”
The Social Welfare Minister continued, “Addressing infrastructural issues promptly, orders have been issued to replace an old wash basin on the ground floor that was not in a shabby condition. This proactive approach ensures that facilities are maintained to a high standard for both patients and staff.”
During the inspection, the Social Welfare Minister interacted with patients availing treatment and took stock of the available facilities and medications. Patients applauded the hospital’s medical facilities and expressed gratitude for the free medical care given by the Kejriwal Government.
Another patient praised the CM Kejriwal-led Delhi Government for resolving a water problem and free healthcare facilities at Mohalla Clinics in the area, exemplifying the positive changes brought under his leadership. The hospital, located in Patel Nagar caters to patients from various localities especially excels in its maternity ward and operation theatre, achieving a success rate of 90/100 in daily deliveries.
In response to issues faced by some patients regarding medicines availability, Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand promptly issued orders to ensure the proper management and timely distribution of medicines. Instructions to provide treatment for severe dental cases in private hospitals, expenses of which will be borne by the Delhi government.
