Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal participated in the grand Ramleela event organized near the historic ‘Lal Quila’ on the occasion of Vijayadashami, where he emphasized the triumph of righteousness over evil and truth over falsehood. During this event, the Chief Minister enjoyed the Ramleela performance and symbolically shot an arrow to mark the destruction of the demon king Ravana, a symbol of evil. He extended his best wishes to everyone on the festival of Dussehra and expressed his commitment to resolving the problems of the people, saying he strives to find solutions to their issues like a son or brother.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal highlighted Lord Shri Ram as an ideal figure and the vision of ‘Ram Rajya’ in Hinduism, aiming to provide food, free electricity, quality education, and healthcare to all sections of society in Delhi.

Before this, the Ramleela organizing committee welcomed CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal by presenting the symbol of Lord Ganesha, a mace, and a shawl. The Chief Minister, while chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram,’ extended his best wishes and greetings to the people of Delhi and the nation on various festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath, wishing for peace, prosperity, and good health in every home. He emphasized the lessons to be learned from the life of Lord Shri Ram.

Amidst a warm reception from the people present on the occasion, CM Shri Kejriwal narrated a passage from the Ramayana, saying that when Lord Rama was about to be crowned as king the next morning, the previous evening, his father, King Dasharatha, summoned Lord Rama to his chamber. At that moment, Queen Kaikeyi was also present. Queen Kaikeyi had requested King Dasharatha to send Lord Rama into exile for 14 years. King Dasharatha was deeply saddened by this decision. He asked Lord Rama to go into a 14-year exile. The people of Ayodhya had great affection for Lord Rama. If Lord Rama had refused to go into exile and said he would become king the next day, the entire population would have supported him. However, Lord Rama did not do that. He smiled and willingly accepted his father’s decision. He assured his father not to be sorrowful. Queen Kaikeyi’s request would be fulfilled, and Lord Rama, with a smile, left for his exile. This is how Lord Rama was. Completely selfless and obedient to his father’s commands. In today’s era, if a father were to ask his son to do something similar, very few would follow. Therefore, Lord Shri Ram is an ideal for us. There is much to learn from his life and example.

The Chief Minister continued, “The concept of ‘Ram Rajya’ has been envisioned in our Hindu religion. Ram Rajya is a great idea, but by learning from the principles of Lord Shri Ram, we are striving to achieve what we can. Our goal is that no one in Delhi should go to bed hungry. Every citizen of Delhi, whether rich or poor, should receive quality education. This is our commitment, and we are working tirelessly towards it. Within Delhi, if anyone is unwell, they should receive the best medical care. Even in government hospitals, they should receive excellent treatment. This is our endeavor. If there is a person in Delhi who is poor, they should have access to electricity. Our effort is that everyone in Delhi should have access to free and uninterrupted electricity 24/7. We take inspiration from Lord Shri Ram, and like a son or a younger brother, I always strive to find solutions to the issues of the people. We work around the clock, and yet sometimes there are shortcomings. If there are any deficiencies on my part, I apologize for them. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for the happiness of all citizens, and I hope that our nation continues to prosper.”
