Delhi Cabinet Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot, today attended the Organic Farmers Meet organized by Dhaam Organic, an agriculture company in Malikpur Village of Najafgarh. This event drew the participation of hundreds of farmers hailing from diverse regions in the country, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and Rajasthan. Shri Kailash Gahlot also took the opportunity to visit the stalls set up by farmers showcasing their organic products and interacted with them.
Addressing the farmers, Shri Kailash Gahlot emphasized the Delhi Government’s commitment to the promotion of organic farming and thereby achieving the goals of sustainable development. He said “Guided by the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Government has consistently encouraged organic farming thereby promoting sustainable development.” He underscored the government’s dedication to minimizing environmental impact and preserving vital resources by embracing intelligent farming techniques.
Shri Kailash Gahlot said, “Last year, we inaugurated the Hydroponics Horticulture and Training Facility at Kushak Nallah Cluster Bus Depot, aimed at training women in the commercial utilization of crops for sustainable livelihoods.”
The Minister assured the assembled farmers of unwavering support from the Delhi Government, stating, “The Kejriwal Government stands shoulder to shoulder with our farming community during challenging times.” He also highlighted the government’s responsive action to aid farmers affected by unseasonal rains and storms, mentioning the disbursement of ₹45 Crores in compensation to affected farmers at a rate of ₹20,000 per acre.
The Farmers Meet, organized by Dham Organic, primarily sought to promote and encourage the practice of organic farming.
