Delhi Jal Board has also joined in to make Delhi Government’s ‘Ab Delhi Hogi Saaf’ campaign a success in the national capital. This cleanliness campaign has been started under the guidance of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with the objective of making Delhi the cleanest city in the world. The DJB has decided that under this campaign, a special drive will be launched to make Delhi Jal Board’s properties, tubewells and road repair works dirt-free. Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Somnath Bharti held an important meeting with senior officials on the issue at DJB Headquarters on Saturday. He issued necessary guidelines to the DJB officials to make this campaign a success. Somnath Bharti directed the officials to collect the details of the old properties and assets of Delhi Jal Board and sought the list of tubewells and status report of road repair works. Based on the list and the status report, a special drive will be launched by Delhi Jal Board to clean all its assets and properties.
All properties/assets of DJB to be dirt-free
Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Somnath Bharti directed the Additional Chief Engineers (ACEs) of all zones to ensure that the special campaign ‘Ab Delhi Hogi Saaf’ launched under the guidance of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should be successful. He said that officials will have to ensure that the assets of Delhi Jal Board like its offices and old buildings in their areas should be cleaned and completely sanitised. Adequate arrangements for cleanliness and sanitation should be made in all the properties of Delhi Jal Board. A special drive should be launched in all the 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi to make DJB offices and buildings litter-free spaces. He said that regular cleaning should be carried out in these places. Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Somnath Bharti will personally monitor and review the cleanliness arrangements.
DJB Vice Chairman asked for status report on road repair works; comprehensive list to be made
The DJB Vice Chairman asked the DJB officials to identify such roads in their areas, where the repair work is not complete even after the laying of sewerage or water pipelines. He has asked the Additional Chief Engineers of all zones of Delhi to prepare the status report of road repair works. In the status report, apart from the current status of repair works, the officials will also have to tender information about the agency under which the concerned road repair work is done, status of payment, length of road repair, date of commencement of work etc. Somnath Bharti said that the Delhi Jal Board has also joined the campaign launched by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to transform the national capital of Delhi into the cleanest city in the world. Under this, the DJB officials have been asked to prepare a list and report of all the roads and streets where the Delhi Jal Board has excavated for laying sewerage or water pipelines. The status report will capture vital information like name of the road, length of the road repair, name of the agency carrying out the repair works and status of payment to the concerned agency for the repair works. The excavation of roads leads to accumulation of dirt, garbage, debris, dust etc. on the roads. The roads will be made dirt-free by completing the repair works of the roads. Delhi Jal Board along with MCD will carry out a special cleaning/sanitation drive to ensure that these roads are neat and clean. He asked the DJB officers to prepare a list of the tubewells in their areas where the debris, soil or silt has not been removed till now. Necessary steps should be taken immediately to ensure that these tubewells are also clean and dirt-free.
