Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Labour Department is going to start a massive awareness campaign to ensure that labourers receive the full benefits of all the schemes being run by the Delhi government for the working class people. Delhi Labour Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand on Friday held a review meeting with the higher officials of the Labor Department and the Delhi Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board to ensure that the labourers receive information about government schemes and take advantage of them.
During this meeting, the Labour Minister instructed the officials to run a massive awareness program in Delhi to make the working class aware of government schemes. Posters and banners will be put up at various construction sites in Delhi and a monthly magazine will be distributed to the labourers working there. The government will inform them of what steps the government is taking for the betterment of the working class. Additionally, through radio and social media, the workers will also be informed about the important schemes relevant to them.
Shri Raaj Kumar Anand said that it is the dream of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal that there should be welfare and development of every section of the people of Delhi. “To make his dream come true, we are working towards providing better health, education and skill development facilities to the working class people. Along with bringing new schemes for the welfare of labourers in Delhi, the Delhi government is working towards improving the already existing facilities so that the working class can get full benefit of all the services of the government.” Moreover, more than 50 lakh documents of the labourers have been digitized by the Labour Department, now the necessary documents of the labourers will be safe with the department, so that the working class people are able to receive better benefits from government schemes in future.
The Labour Minister in a meeting with officials of the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (DBOCWWB) gave instructions to implement the Shramik Aujar Toolkit Sahayata Yojana, Doctor on Wheels Yojana for the health check-up of labourers and the plan to set up a crèche for the children of the labourers, at the earliest.
Shri Raaj Kumar Anand also said in the review meeting that in order to provide better facilities to the labourers, it is very important to increase labourers’ awareness about all the schemes run by the Delhi government relevant to them. Working in this direction, the Labour Department will start a massive awareness campaign. For this, posters and banners will be put up at all construction sites. Along with this, a monthly magazine will be distributed to them, in which labourers will be informed of all the schemes of the Kejriwal government relevant for them Along with this, the workers will also be informed about the steps and new initiatives being taken by the government. Workers will be given this information in simple language, including how these schemes of the government are beneficial for them and how they can take advantage of them by applying for these schemes. In the meeting, the Labour Minister,instructed the officials to work in this direction at the earliest.
In order to provide maximum benefits to the working class people, very soon the Labor Department will start the work of sharing information with the people through radio. The public can be easily informed about the schemes of the government through radio jingles. Similarly, the Delhi government will also work to make people aware through social media.
Shri Raaj Kumar Anand, in a review meeting with the officials of the Construction Workers Welfare Board, directed the officials to implement the On-Site Skill Training Scheme, Shramik Aujar Toolkit Sahayata Yojana, Doctor on Wheels scheme for health check-up of the labourers and construction of crèches for the children of the labourers. Instructions have also been given to work towards their early implementation by fixing the time limit of the scheme. It is notable that the Kejriwal government is working towards providing good education and health services to the labourers of Delhi besides developing their skills to make life easier for them. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Labor Department of Delhi Government has started work on many new schemes. On-site skill training scheme is being introduced for skill development of workers. In the first phase, training will be provided to about 2 lakh labourers working at construction sites. Due to this, good results will be seen in the workplace and the workers will also become efficient. Similarly, under the Shramik Aujar Toolkit Sahayata Yojana, a toolkit will be provided to the workers after their skill development training due to which they will benefit at the workplace. It will also prove beneficial in terms of the safety of the workers.
Moreover, the Labour Department will come up with a Doctor on Wheels scheme for the health check-up of labourers, under which free health check-up of the registered workers will be done at the construction site itself along with consultation from a doctor. In order to increase the participation of women in the working place and for their convenience, there is a plan to set up a mobile crèche for the children of special workers. This crèche will be present at the construction site itself, so that the workers will not have to worry about the safety of the children. The special thing is that along with taking care of the children in these crèches, they will also be provided with nutritious food, which will improve the health of the children.
Shri Raaj Kumar Anand said that all the documents of the Labor Department have now been uploaded on a digital platform. More than 50 lakh documents of construction workers present in all the district offices of the Labour Department have now been uploaded on the digital platform. The biggest benefit of this will be given to the workers. The documents of all the workers registered in the Labor Department will now be present digitally in the government records forever. The workers will get its benefit when any new scheme of the government comes in future.
