On 12th May 2022, in Doaba, a potato grower voluntarily handed over 35 acres which had been illegally occupied for years. This was part of the Anti-Encroachment Drive launched by the AAP Punjab government. The government also started probing VIP land sharks who usurped land to make farmhouses or plot lands into colonies.
Effective amendments were also made to the land reclaiming process.
