AAP Senior Leader and MLA Shri Dilip Pandey held a press conference today to discuss the recent strict measures taken by the AAP government in Punjab to establish peace and tranquillity in the state. He highlighted the Punjab government’s non-compromising attitude towards those who intend to disrupt law and order and social harmony in the state and noted the positive results that have been achieved in just one year of AAP forming a government in Punjab. Shri Dilip Pandey noted that even people from other parties, including the BJP and Congress, now appreciate the AAP government’s efforts in establishing both good governance and security in Punjab.
The Senior AAP Leader said, “The tough steps taken by the Punjab government regarding law and order have proved that the government is very serious about establishing peace and tranquillity for the people of Punjab.” He added that the hard work done by the Punjab Police has resulted in sending those who tried to disturb the peace of Punjab to their rightful place, which is behind the bars.
Shri Dilip Pandey said, “The AAP government’s achievements in Punjab in terms of law and order and governance are a matter of pride for the state.” Praising the Sardar Bhagwant Mann-led government for setting a record of good governance in the state, he cited its several initiatives, such as the Mohalla Clinics, efforts to improve government schools, making contractual employees permanent, and the ‘Invest Punjab’ programme.
He added, “Recently, all the efforts made by the Government of Punjab in the direction of making ‘Rangla Punjab’ have yielded very positive results. What the AAP-led Punjab Government has achieved in just one year is more than what big governments have even imagined after years of rule. The entire country has its hopeful and excited eyes fixed on Punjab for providing an excellent model for the entire country.” He also shared that the people of Punjab as well as Delhi have been expressing gratitude towards Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann for his decisive actions towards making Punjab a better-governed state.
Referring to the premature apprehensions raised in the past by some critics about the AAP government’s experience and ability to control law and order in a border state, Shri Dilip Pandey lauded Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann for taking it as constructive criticism and a challenge. He said, “The Punjab government adopted a no-tolerance policy against those who try to distort the social fabric of Punjab. All well-intentioned past critics of AAP are assured now and are appreciative that the Government of Punjab, with an iron hand, has seriously and firmly taken control of the law and order situation in Punjab.”
“With these strict measures, the Punjab government and police have sent a strong and clear message to the anti-social and socially divisive elements that their actions will not be tolerated,” said the senior AAP leader. He concluded by warning anyone engaged in disturbing the peace and harmony of Punjab, “They can read the writing on the wall, understand that they will not be spared by Sardar Bhagwant Mann’s government and it is now impossible to save themselves.”
