Aam Aadmi Party on Monday began its door-to-door campaign in 250 wards of Delhi aimed at reaching out to the citizens of the city and informing them the truth about the arrest of Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Satyendar Jain. The party organised a mega launch event near the Lakshmi Nagar Metro Station on Monday. As part of the door-to-door campaign, teams of AAP party workers and volunteers reached out to the citizens and also collected signatures from the public for a letter that will be sent to the Prime Minister.
Speaking at the event, AAP Delhi Convenor Shri Gopal Rai said that the central agencies like the CBI and the ED are being misused by the Central Government. The central idea behind the door-to-door campaign is to inform the public about this issue.
He also pointed out the recent incident in Karnataka, where the son of a BJP MLA was caught red-handed with a bribe of Rs 8 crore and yet he has not been arrested or investigated in the matter. But on the other hand, the central agencies conducted multiple raids on Shri Manish Sisodia and went to his office, residence, and ancestral village and yet found nothing on him. But the person on trial at the moment is not the BJP MLA’s son, but the senior AAP leader.
Shri Gopal Rai added that this makes it clear that the investigation aimed at Shri Manish Sisodia is not an act of curtailing corruption, but to only trouble the senior AAP leader as the Aam Aadmi Party has become a cause of worry for the BJP.
He said that through this campaign it is the people of Delhi who are appealing to the Prime Minister to let the city benefit from the works of the Shri Arvind Kejriwal-led government. “The arrest of Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Satyendar Jain has affected the developmental works of Delhi and therefore the people of the city are appealing to the Prime Minister to release them and not make the citizens of Delhi suffer,” he said.
Speaking at the event, AAP leader Adil Ahmad Khan said that through this campaign the party will collect the signatures of the citizens of Delhi and take it to the Prime Minister of India. He added that this was to let the Central Government know how unhappy the people are because of the arrest of Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Satyendar Jain.
He said that Shri Manish Sisodia had given a ray of hope to the students of Delhi and Shri Satyendar Jain had improved the healthcare system of Delhi and this was the only reason behind their arrest. He added that since the BJP government was unable to improve the schools and hospitals in the states where they are in power and therefore they did not want the AAP leaders to set a benchmark in Delhi.
He concluded by saying that the Prime Minister should reveal to the nation what the central agencies found despite conducting so many raids against Shri Manish Sisodia. “For several months the central agencies raided the house, office, bank locker and ancestral village of Shri Manish Sisodia. They conducted a 14-hour raid at his residence where the mattresses were torn down, but still nothing was found on him. The PM should address the nation and tell everyone what was found at Shri Manish Sisodia’s residence.”
