The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has vehemently condemned the arrest of Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Manish Sisodia, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in what the party has described as a “completely false and fabricated case.” AAP National Convenor & Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann reached Dy CM Shri Manish Sisodia’s residence to meet his family after his arrest. They addressed the media, after assuring his family of complete support from the party, while shooting down every single allegation put against his name. The AAP leaders strongly condemned the conspiracy hatched against Sisodia and said that no democracy allows the reign of an autocrat for long. They asserted that the BJP will soon get a befitting reply from the nation.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal, said that Shri Manish Sisodia is a “true deshbhakt” who has dedicated his life to the service of the nation, especially in the area of providing world-class education to the children of the poor. “Over the last 75 years, he is perhaps the first such man who gave hope to the working classes and the downtrodden that their children can break the poverty cycle and salvage their future,” he said.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal Kejriwal also criticised the government for protecting those who have looted and defrauded the country of lakhs of crores, while throwing honest and decent people like Shri Sisodia in jail for no reason. He added that the nation is watching, and the people of this country will give a befitting answer. He added, “Manish Ji is a remarkably well-meaning lionhearted person. But today we are seeing a trend in our country where the most honest, decent people are being thrown into jails for no rhyme or reason. But on the other hand, those who have looted and frauded the country of lakhs of crores are being honoured and protected by the government. All these people are friends of the government and walk hand in hand with them. They fear even issuing a single notice in their name.”
The Delhi CM informed the media that he and Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann met with Shri Manish Sisodia’s wife. “She suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, a disease resulting in nerve damage that disrupts communication between the brain and the body. Manish Ji’s son is currently residing at his university and in that situation it was only Manish Ji who looked after her. She is alone at home now. We have assured her that we are all her brothers and sisters, we will stand behind her as one family in this tough time. We are proud of Manish Ji,” he said.
Sardar Bhagwant Mann, also condemned the arrest, calling it a gross contempt of the education revolution Shri Manish Sisodia administered for lakhs of children of this country. “Manish Sisodia Ji is a unique man who left his media career behind to impart quality education upon the children of the country. The walls of many schools say, once you build schools for the younger ones, you won’t need jails for the older ones. But today we are seeing an anomaly where the person who is building schools one after the other is being sent to jail in a completely fabricated case.”
Accusing the BJP of not wanting to see the country get educated, as it would lead to the downfall of their vendetta politics, he added, “They know once this current generation gets educated, the rationality of this society will grow and cause the downfall of their vendetta politics. The Aam Aadmi Party vehemently condemns the conspiracy hatched against Shri Manish Sisodia. No democracy allows the reign of an autocrat for long. The BJP will soon get a befitting reply from the nation.”
He reiterated the party’s stand and said that no matter how hard the BJP tries, they can not break the spirit of AAP. “We are a national party with a government in two states. We got extraordinary results in Goa and Gujarat, entering the assemblies there. The man who deserves jail time is the one who put LIC into losses, who looted our banks, but he is roaming free. But the man who increased his state’s education budget by manifolds and transformed schools is being made to suffer because of politics. This is a cowardly act. We will not back down. Remember, an eagle only flies higher when the wind gets stronger against him,” he asserted.
