The Supreme Court will hear AAP’s plea for timely election of MCD Mayor on February 3. The Chief Justice of India allocated the date today while taking up the petition filed by the party through its leaders. Giving details of the matter, AAP Chief Spokesperson and MLA Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “Whole country today knows AAP has been wanting to get the Mayor elections held freely & fairly but BJP is seeking to illegally cling to power in MCD. AAP has demanded timely elections of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Standing Committee of MCD in the Supreme Court. AAP has been forced to seek Supreme Court intervention to end BJP’s illegal control of MCD. The Supreme Court should give strict orders to the BJP’s central government and the MCD so that the new government is formed in the MCD immediately. Aldermen do not have the right to vote in the constitution and DMC Act, but BJP does not follow the constitution and law.”
Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “We extend our gratitude to the Supreme Court of India for promptly scheduling a hearing on February 3 for a plea submitted by the Aam Aadmi Party. Our plea calls for the swift and timely conduct of the mayor, deputy mayor and standing committee election in Delhi, which has been long overdue. We have implored the Supreme Court to ensure that the MCD elections take place without further delay, as the people of Delhi urgently need a new mayor to lead the city. Additionally, we have requested the court to ensure that the mayoral election is conducted in accordance with the Constitution and the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, which stipulate that aldermen of the MCD can not participate in the mayoral election.”
He continued, “It is evident that the Aam Aadmi Party is committed to ensuring that the mayoral election is conducted fairly and in accordance with established procedures. The people of Delhi have entrusted us with a clear majority, and it is our duty to ensure that the MCD has a functional government in place as soon as possible. In contrast, the BJP’s actions reveal their desire to maintain control over the MCD despite the fact that their tenure ended in March 2022. They have no legal or moral right to continue to govern the MCD illegally. For the past year, they have used the pretext of unification and delimitation to illegally maintain control over the MCD.”
He continued, “The people of Delhi have given AAP a mandate to govern the MCD with 134 councillors, but the BJP is actively obstructing our efforts to form a government and conduct the mayoral election through unethical and fraudulent means. It is unacceptable that they are using underhanded tactics to subvert the will of the people.”
The MLA concluded, “We have petitioned the Supreme Court for the fair and timely conduct of the mayoral election in the MCD, in order to ensure that MCD has a functional government in place. We have requested that the Court direct the Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor to ensure that the election is conducted in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the country, and that aldermen are prevented from voting in the MCD House. Our goal is to ensure that the MCD mayoral election takes place without further delay, so that a functional government can be formed, and we, the Aam Aadmi Party, can work towards the welfare of the people of Delhi and clean the garbage mountains once and for all.”

एमसीडी मेयर चुनाव जल्द कराने को लेकर ‘आप’ की याचिका सुप्रीम कोर्ट में मुख्य न्यायाधीश ने 3 फरवरी को सुनवाई की डेट दी है। आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता सौरभ भारद्वाज ने कहा कि पूरे देश में यह बात साफ हो गई कि आम आदमी पार्टी मेयर का चुनाव कराना चाहती है और बीजेपी एमसीडी पर अवैध कब्जा कायम रखना चाहती है। “आप” ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में एमसीडी का समय से मेयर, डिप्टी मेयर और स्टेंडिंग कमेटी के चुनाव कराने की मांग की है। आम आदमी पार्टी की याचिका सुप्रीम कोर्ट में मंजूर हो गई है।इसके ऊपर अब 3 फरवरी को सुनवाई होगी। उन्होंने कहा कि एमसीडी में भाजपा कब्जा नहीं छोड़ेगी इसलिए आम आदमी पार्टी को देश की सबसे बड़ी अदालत में जाना पड़ा है। भाजपा की केंद्र सरकार और एमसीडी को सुप्रीम कोर्ट सख्त आदेश दे ताकि एमसीडी में जल्द से जल्द सरकार बनाई जाए। एल्डरमेन को संविधान और एमसीडी एक्ट में वोट देने का अधिकार नहीं है। लेकिन बीजेपी वाले संविधान और कानून को नहीं मानते हैं।
आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता व विधायक सौरभ भारद्वाज ने कहा कि हम सुप्रीम कोर्ट का हाथ जोड़कर धन्यवाद करते हैं। आम आदमी पार्टी की तरफ से उच्चतम न्यायालय में एमसीडी में जल्द से जल्द मेयर, डिप्टी मेयर और स्टेंडिंग कमेटी के चुनाव कराने और एल्डरमेन (नॉमिनेटेड काउंसलर्स) के वोट पर रोक लगाने को लेकर याचिका दाखिल की गई थी। इससे पूरी दिल्ली और देश में आज यह बात साफ हो गई कि आम आदमी पार्टी चुनाव कराना चाहती है ताकि जल्द से जल्द एमसीडी में सरकार बनें। दिल्लीवालों ने आम आदमी पार्टी को बहुमत दिया है। भारतीय जनता पार्टी लालच और बेईमानी में एमसीडी पर अपना कब्जा करके रखना चाहती है। उन्होंने कहा कि बीजेपी का एमसीडी में कार्यकाल 2022 मार्च में खत्म हो चुका है। तब से लेकर अबतक, करीब एक साल से अलग-अलग बहानों के जरिए अवैध कब्जा एमसीडी में कायम रखा है। भाजपा आज भी यह नहीं चाहती है कि लोगों द्वारा चुनी गई आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार एमसीडी में बनें। इसलिए हर बार जब एमसीडी के सदन में लगता है कि चुनाव हो, बीजेपी वाले गड़बड़ी और बेईमानी करके सदन को खत्म कर देते हैं।
आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता सौरभ भारद्वाज ने कहा कि हम एमसीडी और दिल्लीवालों के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट गए हैं। ताकि सुप्रीम कोर्ट केंद्र सरकार और एलजी साहब को आदेश दें कि तुरंत ईमानदारी से फ्री एंड फेयर इलेक्शन करवाएं। दिल्ली को मेयर, डिप्टी मेयर और स्टेंडिंग कमेटी दें। बीजेपी के कार्यकर्ताओं को जबरदस्ती एल्डरमेन बनाया गया है। उन्हें इस चुनाव में वोट देने का कोई हक नहीं है। संविधान और एमसीडी एक्ट में वोट देने का अधिकार नहीं है, लेकिन फिर भी बीजेपी वाले न तो संविधान मानते है और न ही कानून मानते हैं। इसलिए हम लोग देश की सबसे बड़ी अदालत में गए है, ताकि सबसे बड़ी अदालत इनको आदेश दें कि आपको संविधान और कानून मानना पड़ेगा और जल्द से जल्द एमसीडी हाउस के चुनाव कराएं। ताकि देश की राजधानी दिल्ली को साफ-सुथरा किया जा सके। कूड़े के पहाड़ों को खत्म करके लोगों को अच्छी जिंदगी दी जा सके।
