NEW DELHI:
The Delhi Government will give an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore to the families of 14 COVID warriors who lost their lives during the COVID-induced pandemic while serving the patients and society. It is to be noted that prior to this the Delhi government has given the approval for this ex-gratia amount to families of 59 COVID warriors. The decision was taken in the meeting of the group of ministers chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia on Friday. The said meeting was also attended by Transport and Revenue Minister Kailash Gahlot. During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, “COVID warriors of Delhi worked selflessly during the pandemic and sacrificed their lives to protect humanity and society without caring for their own lives. Delhi government salutes their spirit. No amount can compensate for the loss of the family of the deceased COVID warriors, but their families will definitely get a means to live a dignified life through this amount. The government stands with the families of COVID warriors in their every need.”
Adding on, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said that the COVID-induced pandemic was a terrible crisis for the entire humanity which inculcated fear in society but COVID warriors in Delhi risked their lives to get Delhi out of this crisis. Thousands of COVID warriors including doctors, medical staff, support staff, and sanitation workers worked day and night to fight this unprecedented pandemic and many of them were martyred while serving the people.
“Under the leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the decision was taken to provide all the required support to the families of COVID warriors in Delhi. Through the ex-gratia amount of Rs 1cr, the government is trying to help families get their lives back on track. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal will stand as a brother and a son with the families of these martyred COVID warriors always,” he added.

केजरीवाल सरकार कोरोना महामारी के दौरान अपनी जान गंवाने वाले 14 कोरोना योद्धा के परिवारों को 1-1 करोड़ रूपये की सम्मान राशि देगी, इससे पहले दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा 59 कोरोना योद्धाओं के परिवारों को 1-1 करोड़ रूपये की सम्मान राशि देने को मंजूरी दे चुकी है| शुक्रवार को उपमुख्यमंत्री श्री मनीष सिसोदिया की अध्यक्षता में ग्रुप ऑफ़ मिनिस्टर्स की बैठक में इसे मंजूरी दी गई, बैठक में परिवहन व राजस्व मंत्री कैलाश गहलोत भी शामिल रहे| इस मौके पर उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि दिल्ली के कोरोना योद्धाओं ने महामारी के दौरान अपनी जान की परवाह किए बिना मानवता और समाज की रक्षा करने का काम किया और अपने जीवन का बलिदान दिया| उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली सरकार इनके जज़्बे को सलाम करती है। बेशक इस राशि से दिवंगत कोरोना योद्धाओं के परिवार के नुकसान की पूर्ति तो नहीं की जा सकती लेकिन उनके परिवार को एक सम्मानजनक जीवन जीने का जरिया ज़रूर मिलेगा।
उपमुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि कोरोना महामारी एक भयानक संकट था| इस संकट ने सभी के मन में डर भय पैदा कर दिया था लेकिन हमारे कोरोना योद्धाओं ने अपनी जान को जोखिम में डालते हुए दिल्ली को इस संकट से उबारने का काम किया| डॉक्टर, मेडिकल स्टाफ, सहायक स्टाफ, सफाई-कर्मचारियों सहित हजारों कोरोना योद्धाओं ने दिन-रात काम करते हुए इस महामारी से लड़ने का काम किया| उन्होंने कहा कि हमारे कोरोना योद्धाओं ने लोगों की सेवा करते हुए अपनी जान की परवाह भी नहीं की और खुद संक्रमित होकर शहीद हो गए| दिल्ली और देश कोरोना योद्धाओं के इस बलिदान को भूलेगा नहीं|
श्री सिसोदिया ने कहा कि अपनी मानवता की रक्षा करते हुए व अपनी ड्यूटी निभाते हुए हमारे कोरोना योद्धा शहीद हुए लेकिन उनके पीछे हम उनके परिवार को अकेला नहीं छोड़ेंगे| शहीदों की शहादत और उनके परिवार का सम्मान करना केजरीवाल सरकार की प्राथमिकता है| मुख्यमंत्री अरविन्द केजरीवाल जी एक भाई-बेटे के रूप में इन शहीदों के कोरोना योद्धाओं के परिवारों के साथ कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर खड़े है।
उन्होंने कहा कि केजरीवाल सरकार की ये योजना कोरोना योद्धाओं के परिवार को ये आत्मविश्वास देती है कि सरकार और समाज हमेशा हर जरुरत में उनके साथ है। और उनकी हर जरूरतों को पूरा करना सरकार का फर्ज है|
