Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal approved the appointment of Justice (Retd) Shri Rajeev Kumar Shrivastava as the next Chairman of the DERC. Wishing him on the occasion, the CM tweeted, “Best wishes to Justice (Retd) Rajeev Kumar Shrivastava for a successful tenure.” The Proposal for Justice Shrivastava’s appointment was placed before the CM by Dy CM Shri Manish Sisodia. The Matter has now been placed before the LG.
Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has approved the appointment of Justice (Retd) Shri Rajeev Kumar Shrivastava as the Chairman of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission. The proposal for his appointment was moved by Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia who holds the charge of the Power Ministry. The appointment has been made in accordance with the Electricity Act through the same procedure followed for the appointment of the two previous DERC Chairmen.
Sharing details about the appointment on Twitter, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Delhi Government approves appointment of Justice (retd) Rajeev Shrivastava as next Chairman of DERC. Best wishes to him for a successful tenure.”
It is noteworthy that Justice (Retd) Shri Rajeev Kumar Shrivastava is a former Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Under due procedure, the Chief Justice of the MP High Court has also granted his approval for the same.
Further, the matter has now been placed before the LG. The LG is bound by the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers in this matter as it is a transferred subject. Justice (Retd) Shri Rajeev Kumar Shrivastava will assume the post of the Chairman DERC after the retirement of the present Chairman Justice (Retd) Shabihul Hasnain.
While approving the proposal, the Chief Minister has also noted that the erstwhile LG, Shri Anil Baijal agreed with the decisions of the government in the appointment of the previous two Chairmen of DERC and did not differ with the decisions of the government.

मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने आज दिल्ली विद्युत नियामक आयोग के अध्यक्ष के रूप में न्यायमूर्ति (सेवानिवृत्त) राजीव कुमार श्रीवास्तव की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी। डीईआरसी के अध्यक्ष के तौर पर राजीव कुमार की नियुक्ति का प्रस्ताव डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया ने पेश किया था। डिप्टी सीएम मनीष सिसोदिया प्रभारी बिजली मंत्री भी हैं। सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश राजीव कुमार श्रीवास्तव की बतौर डीईआरसी अध्यक्ष की नियुक्ति विद्युत अधिनियम के अनुसार की गई है। इससे पहले भी दो डीईआरसी अध्यक्षों की नियुक्ति इसी प्रक्रिया के अनुसार की गई थी। अब यह फाइल एलजी के पास भेजी गई है।
मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने डीईआरसी के अध्यक्ष के तौर पर सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश राजीव कुमार श्रीवास्तव की नियुक्ति की जानकारी ट्वीट कर साझा की। सीएम ने ट्वीट कर कहा, ‘‘दिल्ली सरकार ने डीईआरसी के अगले अध्यक्ष के रूप में न्यायमूर्ति (सेवानिवृत्त) राजीव श्रीवास्तव की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दी है। उनके सफल कार्यकाल के लिए शुभकामनाएं।’’
उल्लेखनीय है कि न्यायमूर्ति (सेवानिवृत्त) राजीव कुमार श्रीवास्तव मध्य प्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय के पूर्व न्यायाधीश रहे हैं। मध्यप्रदेश हाईकोर्ट के मुख्य न्यायाधीश ने भी सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश राजीव कुमार श्रीवास्तव को डीईआरसी का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त करने को लेकर अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है।
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल से डीईआरसी के अध्यक्ष के लिए सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश राजीव कुमार के नाम पर मुहर लगाने के बाद अब फाइलएलजी के पास उनकी मंजूरी के लिए भेजी गई है। एलजी से फाइल को मंजूरी मिलने के बाद न्यायमूर्ति (सेवानिवृत्त) राजीव कुमार श्रीवास्तव डीईआरसी के वर्तमान अध्यक्ष सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश शबिहुल हसनैन की जगह लेंगे और उनकी सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद डीईआरसी के अध्यक्ष का पद ग्रहण करेंगे।
इस प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी देते हुए मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने यह भी कहा कि तत्कालीन एलजी अनिल बैजल डीईआरसी के पिछले दो अध्यक्षों की नियुक्ति में सरकार के फैसलों पर सहमत थे और उन्होंने सरकार के फैसलों से असहमति नहीं जताई थीे।
