मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि दिल्ली के व्यापारियों के लिए दिल्ली सरकार लांच करेगी ऑनलाइन ‘दिल्ली बाजार’, पूरी दुनिया जान सकेगी कि दिल्ली में क्या माल बनता या बिकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली के मार्केट अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों के होने चाहिए। हमने चांदनी चौक का ट्रायल आधार पर पुर्नविकास किया है। इसी तर्ज पर बाकी मार्केट और दिल्ली की सभी सड़कों को भी खूबरसूरत बनाएंगे। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि दिल्ली की अर्थ व्यवस्था को गति देने के लिए दिल्ली सरकार ने डीजल के दाम कम किए और रोजगार बाजार पोर्टल शुरू करने के साथ कई सारे कदम उठाए हैं। दिल्ली में सार्वजनिक परिवहन की समस्या को खत्म करने के लिए हम केंद्र सरकार से लगातार बात कर रहे हैं और उम्मीद है कि केंद्र सरकार जल्द ही मेट्रो शुरू करने की अनुमति दे देगी। मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने आज यह बातें दिल्ली की अर्थ व्यवस्था को पटरी पर लाने के उद्देश्य से दिल्ली के सभी व्यापारियों के साथ वर्चुअल संवाद के दौरान कही। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कोरोना महामारी की वजह से दिल्ली की अर्थव्यवस्था को पहुंचे नुकसान की भरपाई करने और कारोबार को गति देकर अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत करने के सम्बंध में व्यापारियों से सुझाव मांगे। मुख्यमंत्री ने व्यापारियों से मिले अच्छे सुझावों को आने वाले दिनों में लागू करने का आश्वासन दिया है।

आज की वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग में शामिल ‘आप’ ट्रेड विंग के कन्वीनर बृजेश गोयल ने बताया कि आज की मीटिंग में दिल्ली के तमाम बड़े बाजार चांदनी चैक, सदर बाजार, चावड़ी बाजार, खारी बावली, कश्मीरी गेट, करोल बाग, कनॉट प्लेस, लाजपत नगर, खान मार्केट, साउथ एक्स, सरोजिनी नगर, लक्ष्मी नगर, गांधीनगर, राजौरी गार्डन आदि बाजारों के प्रतिनिधि शामिल हुए। इसके अलावा होटल, रेस्टोरेंट, बैंक्विट, ट्रांसपोर्ट व सैलून पार्लर आदि के साथ बड़ी संख्या में महिला कारोबारी भी उपस्थित रहीं। आज की मीटिंग में बड़ी संख्या में व्यापारियों ने अपने सुझाव दिए, जो व्यापारी समय के अभाव के कारण आज अपनी बात नहीं रख पाए, उनसे भी सुझाव मांगे गए हैं और अगले कुछ दिनों में दिल्ली के हर एक मार्केट और अलग-अलग सेक्टर के व्यापारियों से भी सुझाव आ जाएंगे।

दिल्ली के लोगों ने काबिले तारीफ काम किया है, आज दिल्ली माॅडल की चर्चा देश और विदेश में हो रही है- अरविंद केजरीवाल

मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हम सभी के लिए पिछला पांच-छह महीना बहुत ही मुश्किल भरा गुजरा है। पूरा देश और पूरी दुनिया इस समय कोरोना महामारी से जूझ रही है। कहा जा रहा है कि मानव जाति के इतिहास में इतनी बड़ी समस्या कभी नहीं आई थी। बताया जाता है कि 1918 में स्पैनिस फ्लू आया था, जो कोरोना की तरह ही था। अब 100 साल के बाद यह महामारी आई है।
मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि कोरोना बीमारी को नियंत्रित करना सबसे महत्वपूर्ण हैै ताकि किसी को यह बीमारी न हो और लोगों की मौतें न हो। दूसरी तरफ, कोरोना की वजह से लोगों की जिंदगी, लोगों के व्यापारी, लोगों की नौकरी, जो अस्त व्यस्त हो गई हैं, उनको पटरी पर लेकर आना है। मुझे खुशी है कि दिल्ली में कोरोना की स्थिति आज काफी ज्यादा नियंत्रण में आ चुकी है। जून के महीने में 15-20 दिन के लिए स्थिति थोड़ी चिंता जनक हो गई थी। लेकिन अब दिल्ली के दो करोड़ लोगों, सभी संस्थाओं, केंद्र सरकार, धार्मिक व सामाजिक संस्थाओं की मदद आदि से कोरोना को नियंत्रित करने में मदद मिली है। इस दौरान व्यापारियों ने हमारी मदद की और हम इसके लिए सभी व्यापारियों का धन्यवाद करते हैं। लाॅकडाउन के दौरान व्यापारियों ने गरीबों को खूब खाना बांटा। कई हंगर केंद्रों पर भी व्यापारियों ने मदद की। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि दिल्ली के दो करोड़ लोग, हम सभी एक परिवार की तरह हैं। हमारा यह दो करोड़ लोगों का एक परिवार है। इस परिवार ने मिल कर जिस तरह से दिल्ली में काम किया, वह काफी काबिले तारीफ है और दिल्ली माॅडल की चर्चा आज देश और विदेश में हो रही है।

पिछले सप्ताह इंडस्ट्री के लोगों ने कई अच्छे सुझाव दिए हैं, आने वाले दिनों में कुछ बड़ी घोषणाएं की जाएंगी- अरविंद केजरीवाल

सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि मैं समझ सकता हूं कि इस दौरान अर्थव्यवस्था का काफी बुरा हाल हो गया है। आप सभी लोगों को काफी कठिन दौर से गुजरना पड़ रहा है। बहुत सारे लोगों के काम धंधे चैपट हो गए हैं। बहुत सारे लोगों की नौकरियां चली गई हैं। दिल्ली के लोगों ने मिल कर पिछले पांच साल में बहुत बड़े-बड़े कारनामे किए हैं। मैं आप सभी लोगों को विश्वास दिलाना चाहता हूं कि हम सभी मिल कर अर्थव्यवस्था को भी ठीक कर लेंगे। हम लोगों ने दिल्ली में 25 प्रतिशत प्रदूषण कम किया। पिछले साल हम लोगों ने डेंगू पर नियंत्रण पाया। इस साल हम लोगों ने कोरोना को नियंत्रित किया और अब हम सभी लोग मिल कर अर्थव्यवस्था को भी ठीक करेंगे। हम सब लोग इसके लिए प्रयास कर रहे हैं। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि पिछले सप्ताह मैने इंडस्ट्री के लोगों से इसी तरह से वर्चुअल मीटिंग की थी। उन्होंने भी बहुत अच्छे-अच्छे सुझाव दिए थे। कुछ लोगों ने बाद में लिख कर भी कई सुझाव दिए थे। मैं उनके उपर पर काम कर रहा हूं और आने वाले दिनों में कुछ बड़ी घोषणाएं भी होने वाली हैं।

हमारे वित्त मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया व्यापारियों से सलाह करने के बाद जीएसटी काउंसिल की मीटिंग में जाते हैं और कई मांगें बैठक में रखी गई- अरविंद केजरीवाल

सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि करीब साढ़े पांच वर्ष पहले जब दिल्ली में पहली बार आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार बनी थी, उस वक्त दिल्ली में व्यापारियों को ढेर सारी समस्याएं होती थी। व्यापारियों के साथ बैठ कर हमने उन सभी समस्याओं पर गौर किया और कई सारे ऐसे कदम उठाए, जो व्यापारियों को भी नहीं यकीन था कि इस तरह से भी हो सकता है। अब जीएसटी आ गया, लेकिन उस समय वैट हुआ करता था। सीएम ने याद दिलाते हुए कहा कि हमने न केवल वैट का सरलीकरण किया, बल्कि हमने कई प्रोडक्टर के उपर वैट के रेट 12 प्रतिशत को घटा कर सीधे 5 प्रतिशत कर दिया। यह काम हमने बिना किसी दबाव के किया था। जब से दिल्ली में आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार आई है, तब से दिल्ली में हमने इंस्पेक्टर राज और रेड राज खत्म कर दिया है। पहले कितने इंस्पेक्टर और अधिकारी व्यापारियों को तंग किया करते थे। अब जीएसटी वालों से उतनी तकलीफ नहीं होती है।
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हमारे वित्त मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया जी जीएसटी काउंसिल की मीटिंग में पहले व्यापारियों से सलाह करके जाते हैं। मुझे नहीं लगता है कि किसी भी राज्य के वित्त मंत्री जीएसटी काउंसिल की मीटिंग में अपने व्यापारियों से चर्चा करके जाते होंगे। आप लोगों की जो भी वास्तविक मांगें थीं, उनमें से कई मांगें जीएसटी कांउसिल की बैठक में रखी गई। उसकी वजह से काउंसिल ने कई सारे निर्णय लिए। आप लोगों के सुझाव पर कई चीजों पर फैसले भी हुए।

लाॅकडाउन खोलने के बाद हमने राज्य में दोबारा लाॅकडाउन नहीं लगाया- अरविंद केजरीवाल

सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि कोरोना महामारी में जब-जब, जैसे-जैसे केंद्र सरकार जो चीजें खोलती गई, हमने उन सभी चीजों को उनके साथ-साथ खोलने की कोशिश की। एक जून से केंद्र सरकार ने लाॅकडाउन खोला, हमने भी लाॅकडाउन खोला। लाॅकडाउन को खोलने के 15-20 दिन बाद तक थोड़ी समस्याएं हुई। केस बढ़े, लेकिन हमने दोबारा लाॅकडाउन नहीं लगाया। हमने एक बार निर्णय ले लिया था, क्योंकि हम नहीं चाहते थे कि कोरोना से बच जाएं और भूखमरी से मर जाएं। हमें दोनों के बीच में संतुलन करना बेहद जरूरी है। एक तरफ कोरोना को कम करना भी जरूरी है और दूसरी तरफ जिंदगी भी जीनी है। कहीं ऐसा न हो कि काम धंधे के अभाव में लोगों को रोटी खाने को न मिले और लोग भूखमरी से मर जाएं। जब से हमने लाॅकडाउन खोला, उसके बाद पूरे देश में दिल्ली इकलौता शहर है, जहां दोबारा लाॅकडाउन नहीं लगा। कई राज्यों में दो दिन, शनिवार और रविवार और कई राज्यों में कुछ दिन के लिए दोबारा लाॅकडाउन लगाया गया। हम सभी ने मिल कर कोरोना को इस तरह से नियंत्रित किया कि हमने अपने राज्य में दोबारा लाॅकडाउन लगाने की नौबत नहीं आने दी।

जनता महंगाई बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकती, तो सरकार का फर्ज बनता है कि वो जनता को सहूलियत दे- अरविंद केजरीवाल

वर्चुअल संवाद के दौरान होटल खोलने का सुझाव दिया गया, इसका जवाब देते हुए सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि बीते शुक्रवार को होटल खोलने के आदेश हो चुके हैं। दिल्ली में सभी होटल खुल चुके हैं। जो लोग अपना होटल खोलना चाहते हैं, वो खोल सकते हैं। साप्ताहिक बाजार भी खोल दिए गए हैं। इसके अलावा, व्यापार और अर्थव्यवस्था को पटरी पर लाने के लिए और भी कई कदम उठाए गए हैं। संभवतः भारत के इतिहास में पहली बार हुआ होगा, जब डीजल के रेट एकदम से 8 रुपये प्रति लीटर कम कर दिए गए। बीते 70 साल में इतनी ज्यादा कमी करने की किसी की हिम्मत नहीं हुई होगी। कुछ लोगों ने हमसे कहा था कि एक तरह आप कह रहे हैं कि सरकार को राजस्व नहीं आ रहा है और दूसरी तरफ इतना रेट कम कर दिए। सीएम ने कहा कि हमें जनता का ख्याल रखना है। सरकार जनता के लिए चलती है और जनता अगर इतनी महंगाई बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकती है, तो सरकार का फर्ज बनता है कि वो जनता को सहूलियत दे। डीजल व पेट्रोल के रेट कम करने से सभी चीजों पर असर पड़ता है। इसलिए हमने डीजल का रेट कम किया। रेहड़ी पटरी, होटल, साप्ताहिक बाजार को खोलने की अनुमति दे दी है।

स्टार्टअप पाॅलिसी पर भी सभी लोग अपने सुझाव दें- अरविंद केजरीवाल

सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हम लोगों ने एक स्टार्टअप पाॅलिसी पब्लिक डोमिन में डाली है, उस पर भी हम लोगों ने सुझाव मांगे है। यदि नए बिजनेस शुरू करने हों, तो उसमें आप लोग अपने सुझाव दे सकते हैं। इसके अलावा, हमने रोजगार बाजार पोर्टल शुरू किया। यह एक ऐसी पहल है, जिसका बहुत ज्यादा रिस्पाॅस आ रहा है। कई सारे दुकान, व्यापारी और उद्यमियों का कहना था कि कोरोना के पहले हमारा 35 लोगों का स्टाफ था। कोरोना में सभी लोग अपने घर चले गए और अब नए स्टाफ नहीं मिल रहे हैं। एक तरफ, सारा स्टाफ चले जाने से व्यापारियों और उद्यमियों को तकलीफ हो रही थी और दूसरी तरफ लोग कह रहे थे कि हमारी नौकरी चली गई। अब इस पोर्टल पर नौकरी देने वाले भी हैं और नौकरी लेने वाले भी हैं। हम लोगों ने रोजगार बाजार जब शुरू किया था, तब उम्मीद नहीं थी कि इतना ज्यादा रिस्पाॅस आएगा। आज मुझे खुशी है कि इसमें लगभग 8.5 से 9 हजार कंपनियां पंजीकरण कर चुकी हैं और उन्होंने लाखों वैकेंसी डाली हैं और दूसरी तरफ जाॅब के लिए लाखों लोग आवेदन भी कर रहे हैं। लोगों को इसकी मदद से बड़ी संख्या में नौकरी मिल रही है और व्यापारी और उद्य़मियों को स्टाफ मिल रहा है।

बैंकों से बात कर लोन लेने में आ रही दिक्कतों को दूर करने की कोशिश करेंगे- अरविंद केजरीवाल

सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि जब मैने व्यापारियों के साथ बैठक करने की घोषण की, तो कई लोगों के हमारे पास लिखित सुझाव भी आए थे। उसमें एक सुझाव आया कि आत्म निर्भर भारत की जो लोन देने की योजना है, उसके तहत आवेदन करने और लोन लेने में लोगों को दिक्कत आ रही है। हम निर्धारित बैंकों के साथ बात करेंगे और उसमें जो भी दिक्कत आ रही है, उन दिक्कतों को दूर करने की कोशिश करेंगे। बैंक के साथ बात करके इस प्रक्रिया को सरल करने की कोशिश करेंगे। एक अन्य सुझाव आया था, जैसे मान लिया जाए कि कोई इंडस्ट्रीयल एरिया या कोई मार्केट है। उस मार्केट या इंडस्ट्रीयल एरिया में उद्योग या दुकान हैं, तो उनका अगर हम एक पोर्टल बना दें कि उस मार्केट में जिन लोगों की दुकान हैं, वो क्या माल बेचते हैं, या उस की मदद से उन्हें पूरी दुनिया से आॅर्डर मिल सकते हैं और पूरी दुनिया के साथ संबंध स्थापित कर सकते हैं। इसको हम दिल्ली बाजार कह सकते हैं। दिल्ली का बाजार एक पोर्टल के उपर आ जाएगा, जिसमें इंडस्ट्री और मार्केट वाले आएंगे और अपने प्रोडक्ट को प्रमोट कर सकेंगे, जिसे पूरी दुनिया के लोग उसे देख सकते हैं। कुछ लोगों ने पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट को लेकर सुझाव दिए हैं। मैं इससे पूरी तरह से सहमत हूं। पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट की बहुत ज्यादा दिक्कत हो रही है। हमने केंद्र सरकार से इस बात का अनुरोध किया है कि दिल्ली को बाकी राज्यों से थोड़ा अलग समझा जाए। दिल्ली के अंदर अब कोरोना की स्थिति ठीक हो रही है। दिल्ली में हम अब मेट्रो खोलना चाहते हैं। बाकी राज्य में मेट्रो नहीं खोलना चाहते हैं, न खोलिए, लेकिन दिल्ली में चरणबद्ध तरीके से मेट्रो को चलने की अनुमति दी जाए। चाहे ट्रायल के आधार पर ही अभी अनुमति दी जाए। मुझे उम्मीद है कि केंद्र सरकार इस दिशा में जल्द ही निर्णय लेगी, ताकि लोगों को सहूलियत मिल सके। हमने कई बार यह मुद्दा केंद्र सरकार के सामने उठाया है।

वर्चुअल संवाद के दौरान मिले सुझावों पर अमल कर आने वाले दिनों में लागू करने की कोशिश करेंगे- अरविंद केजरीवाल

सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हमने चांदनी चौक का पुर्नविकास किया है। चांदनी चौक बेहद ही खूबसूरत हो गया है। मैं समझता हूं कि नवंबर-दिसंबर तक बन कर तैयार हो जाएगा। दिल्ली के दूसरी मार्केट वाले जब चांदनी चौक जा रहे हैं, तो वो भी कह रहे हैं कि हमारी मार्केट भी ऐसी ही होनी चाहिए। मैं आप सभी लोगों को विश्वास दिलाना चाहता हूं कि यह हमारे लिए एक पायटल प्रोजेक्ट था। अब धीरे-धीरे करके दिल्ली की सारी मार्केट और दिल्ली की सभी सड़कें भी इतनी खूबसूरत करेंगे, जैसा हम लोगों ने चांदनी चौक मार्केट की है। सर्कल रेट का एक मुद्दा आया था। मैं समझता हूं कि दिल्ली के अंदर कुछ एरिया हैं, जहां पर सर्कल रेट मार्केट रेट से भी बहुत ज्यादा हैं और वहां बहुत दिक्कत हो रही है। सर्कल रेट की विसंगतियों को दूर करने के लिए हम जल्द ही इस पर काम शुरू करेंगे। मार्बल, ऑटो मोबाइल और विमेन एंटरप्रिंन्योर के सुझाव आए हैं, उन सभी लोगों के सुझाव नोट किए गए हैं। उन सभी सुझावों पर काम करेंगे। मार्केट इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को ठीक करने के सुझाव आए हैं, उनको हम जरूर ठीक करेंगे। दिल्ली की मार्केट अंर्तराष्ट्रीय मानक के आधार पर होनी चाहिए। चांदनी चैक को ट्रायल बेसिस पर हमने किया है, उसी तर्ज पर हम बाकी मार्केट की समस्या भी आने वाले समय में दूर करेंगे। सीएम ने अनुरोध किया कि सभी लोग अपने सुझाव लिख कर के भी भेज दीजिए। जो सुझाव कम समय में लागू हो सकते हैं, उनको जल्द लागू करेंगे और जिनमें समय लगेगा, उसको भी लागू करेंगे।

व्यापारियों ने मुख्यमंत्री से बातचीत के दौरान दिए सुझाव-

1-निर्माण उद्योग से जुड़े व्यापारी हर्ष वर्धन ने बंसल ने सुझाव दिया कि दिल्ली में जमीन खरीदने पर सर्कल रेट पर तीन गुना ड्यूटी देनी पड़ती है, उसे रिव्यू किया जाए। दिल्ली में घर खरीदने वालों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए कुछ समय के लिए 6 प्रतिशत स्टाम्प ड्यूटी कम करके 4 यो 5 प्रतिशत कम कर दिया जाए।

2- साउथ एक्स मार्केट के प्रेसिडेंट विजय कुमार ने कहा कि मेट्रो रेल सर्विस जल्द शुरू करा दिया जाए। लोगों के आवागमन की बहुत समस्या हो रही है। बसों में सीमित लोग बैठ सकते हैं। मेट्रो को ग्राहक और कर्मचारी दोनों इस्तेमाल करते हैं। स्टाफ को ड्यूटी आने और घर जाने में दिक्कत हो रही है।

3- एंटरप्रिन्योर मिनाक्षी दत्त ने कहा कि हम ब्यूटिक, सैलून समेत छोटे-छोटे काम करते हैं। अभी तक हमारे लिए कोई भी ऐसा विभाग या शिकायत सेल नहीं है, जहां पर हम अपनी समस्याएं को बता सकें। उन्होंने सुझाव दिया कि कोई ऐसा सेल बनाया जाए, जो सिर्फ महिला एंटरप्रिन्योर के लिए हो।

4- दिल्ली मार्बल मार्केट एसोसिएशन के प्रेसिडेंट प्रवीण गोयल ने कहा कि कंझावला डीएसआईडीसी इंडस्ट्रीयल एरिया में सरकार के पास 300 एकड़ भूमि उपलब्ध है। उसमें से 100 एकड़ जमीन पर एक बड़ा मार्बल फैसिलीटी जोन बनाया जाए, जिससे व्यापारियों को सहूलियत होगी, व्यापार को बढ़ावा मिलेगा और राजस्व में वृद्धि होगी।

5- चांदनी चौक मार्केट के प्रेसिडेंट संजय भार्गव ने कहा कि पूरी दिल्ली में मार्केट का ढांचा काफी खराब है। जब तक हम ग्राहक को मार्केट में आने की सहूलियत नहीं देंगे, तब तक कोई मार्केट में आने को तैयार नहीं है। मेरा सुझाव है कि सरकार मार्केट के इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर पर ध्यान दें। पार्किंग आदि की व्यवस्था की जाए।

Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal interacted with the traders in Delhi to discuss measures to boost Delhi’s economy after the corona pandemic. The discussion was held through Digital Samvaad, which is a series of events held by the office of Hon’ble CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal to interact with industrialists and traders to understand the challenges faced by them in light of the CoVID-19 pandemic and to take suggestions on how to tackle their issues. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal reiterated that in the last five years, the people of Delhi have collectively overcame many challenges and they will also overcome the challenge of economic revival of Delhi by working together in this hour of necessity.

The meeting was attended by more than 215 traders of Delhi, from a variety of sectors like manufacturing, electronics, garments, automobiles, etc. and from all regions of Delhi. Vice Chairperson Dialogue & Development Commission of Delhi, Mr. Jasmine Shah, and National Convenor – Chamber of Trade & Industries (CTI) of Delhi State and Mr. Brajesh Goel moderated the discussion.

The meeting held today was attended by representatives from all the major markets in Delhi including Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Chawdi Bazar, Khari Baoli, Kashmiri Gate, Karol Bagh, Connaught Place, Lajpat Nagar, Khan Market, South Ex, Sarojini Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Rajouri Garden, etc. Women entrepreneurs and leaders from the hospitality and wellness industry also presented their suggestions to CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal.

In today’s meeting, a large number of traders gave their suggestions. Suggestions have also been sought from traders who could not speak today due to lack of time, and in the next few days, there will be suggestions from every market in Delhi and traders from different sectors.

Harshvardhan Bansal, Chairman of Unity Group said, “First Dengue, and then Corona, I want to congratulate the Hon’ble CM for attaining victory over both. I am proud to be a Delhiite, that now the whole world sees Delhi as an example. I have one concern, the circle rate of some areas for commercial properties in Delhi is much higher. I want to request you to take some action on the circle rates considering the losses suffered by traders and businessmen due to the after-effects of Corona in Delhi.”

Vijay Kumar, President of South Ex Market, said, “Metro Rail service should be started soon. There is a lot of problem in the movement of people. Limited people can travel in buses. The Metro uses both customers and employees. The staff is finding it difficult to commute on daily basis.”

Meenakshi Dutt, a salon owner, said, “I am a salon owner, and like me, many women entrepreneurs run businesses in crafts, boutiques, or work from home. In my suggestion, the government must establish a women’s cell or a department in Delhi where women entrepreneurs can report their grievances and issues related to businesses. I want to thank the Delhi government for opening the salon industry in Delhi.”

Praveen Goyal, President of Delhi Marble Association, said, “I want to thank the CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal and CIT team for having this discussion with the traders on strengthening the economy of Delhi. There are more than 1 lakh marble shops in Delhi and more than 1 lakh people are earning their livelihoods through marble business. But, there is no organized parking in marble market areas in Delhi. If a marble facilitation zone is created on 100 hectares of land, it will be a huge convenience for the marble market and the government.”

Sanjay Bhargava, President of Chandani Chowk market said, “Your government has set a historic example by redeveloping the Chandani Chowk market. The infrastructure of markets in general needs to be improved. We should be able to provide convenience in terms of infrastructure to people, especially in the post-Corona times. If these issues are resolved, the economy will strengthen rapidly. I also want to urge you to direct the electricity companies to not send high provisional bills because there has been no business for a long time now.”

Sanjeev Mehra, President of Khan Market Association said, “Thank you for opening the markets as soon as the lockdown was lifted and providing us all the support to ensure that physical distancing protocols and hygiene is maintained in the markets. There has been no COVID case in Khan Market, and the business is slowly picking pace.”

Rakesh Yadav, President of Federation of Sadar Bazaar, “I want to thank you for supporting the traders in these difficult times. Sadar Bazaar has around 40000 shops and the way Chandani Chowk has been redeveloped under your leadership, it is very commendable. I would request you to develop a policy through which our youth takes on the responsibility of handling these market associations because we need young blood in our businesses.”

Leher Sethi, an entrepreneur from the event industry said, “The hospitality and event industry has been greatly affected. Measures must be taken to revive this industry because the events are mostly happening online and this is likely to continue till 2021. In the past one month, around 60,000 events from across 11 countries have been canceled. It has affected the hospitality industry, band markets, photographers, clothes industry, and event companies, etc. I want to request you to open the hotels as soon as possible since the hospitality industry and event industry are interdependent.”

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal heard all the suggestions given by the business owners and representatives of various market associations in Delhi. Following the suggestions, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “I want to thank the owners and businesses for taking out time to attend the conference on a Sunday. The last 5-6 months have been very tough for us. The whole country and the whole world is suffering from the Corona pandemic. It is said that no bigger pandemic had hit the humankind before. Spanish Flu came in 1918, and the Corona pandemic now has arisen after 100 years. On one hand, the most important thing is controlling Corona and saving the people from the pandemic and ensuring there are no deaths. On the other hand, what is important is getting Delhi’s economy back on track, which has dismantled because of no jobs, no businesses, and no trade due to Corona lockdown. I am happy that the Corona situation in Delhi is under control. The situation was a bit worrisome in the month of June for 15-20 days, but now, with the efforts of the two crore people of Delhi, religious and social organizations, the situation is under control. The traders have cooperated a lot during the Corona lockdown by coming forward to feed the poor during the day and night. I have said this many times, the two crore people of Delhi are like a family, and their collective efforts are commendable because of which the Delhi Model is being discussed across the country and the world. The economy took a huge set back during this and you all must be suffering from many problems right now. Many businesses have been shut down and jobs have been lost. In the last 5 years, the people of Delhi have overcome some of the biggest challenges. I want to assure you that we will overcome the challenge of reviving the economy in Delhi. The pollution has decreased by 25% in the last five years, we controlled Dengue last year, and Corona this year, and we are working together to revive the economy. Last week, I interacted with industrial associations in Delhi in the same way, and I am working on the suggestions that they sent me in writing. In the coming days, there are going to be major announcements in the industry sector. When the AAP government was formed five years back, the traders were facing huge issues, and we sat down with them to resolve all those issues. We took many steps that even traders could not believe that it was possible to take those steps. We reduced the VAT rates from 12% to 5% on a lot of items, on items such as marble and garments, without any pressure and without any lobbying. In the last five years, we have ended Inspector Raj or Raid Raj in Delhi. Many inspectors and officials from the government used to hamper the businesses earlier, but now it has ended and GST officials do not pose many problems. Finance Minister of Delhi Shri Manish Sisodia attends the meetings of GST councils of the centre. He put the issues faced by the traders in front of the GST council because of which many key decisions were made by the council.”

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that during the Corona lockdown, we opened the activities in Delhi as and when the Central government opened the activities across the country. “There was a rise in the number of cases for 15-20 days since June 1 after the lockdown was lifted, but we did not implement the lockdown again. We imposed lockdown in Delhi only once, and then gradually resumed work across fields from June 1 onwards. Probably, Delhi is the only city where lockdown hasn’t been imposed again, as we understand work, and COVID management can go hand-in-hand,” he added.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that in a notice being issued on Friday, hotels have been opened in Delhi and the those that are left can open their hotels. He said, “Weekly markets have also opened and many other steps are taken to strengthen the economy of Delhi. Probably this is the first time that the rate of diesel has decreased by Rs 8, and no other state would have dared to do such a steep decline in diesel prices. Many people told us that on the one hand, where we have no revenue due to less economic activity, and on the other hand we were decreasing diesel prices. We have to take care of the people, and it is the responsibility of the government to provide convenience to the people. We have allowed street-hawkers to operate. We have also put start-up policy in the public domain and we have asked for suggestions to start new businesses in Delhi. We have received a great response to Rozgaar Bazaar. A lot of shop-owners, traders, business persons, and industrialists were coming to me and saying that they had a staff of 35 people before Corona and they left towards their native places during the lockdown. While on one hand, they were facing issues of understaffing, on the other hand, people had lost jobs during the lockdown. Their matchmaking was important. We started the Rozgaar Bazaar, and we did not expect that we will receive such a great response. I am happy that today, we have around 8500-9000 companies that have registered on the portal and have put lakhs of vacancies. Lakhs of people are applying for jobs. Many people are getting jobs through the portal and many businesses are finding the right labor.”

“When I announced that I will hold a Digital Samvaad with traders, many people sent their suggestions to me. One of the suggestion was that under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Yojana of taking loans, people are facing issues in applying for loans in banks. We will speak to the scheduled banks on the challenges being faced by the people and we will try and resolve it,” added the CM.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “One suggestion that I received was that just like the job portal, we should launch a portal of industries and shops based on the material they manufacture and sell, especially in industrial areas such as Wazirpur, Bawana, and Badli. Through this portal, Delhi’s wholesale market and industries can put their products in front of the whole world and they can receive orders from the whole world. We can call it Delhi Bazaar where the people can market their products.”

“I agree that transportation is a huge problem. We have raised the issue in front of the centre and have requested the centre to consider Delhi somewhat separately from the whole country. The Corona situation in Delhi is improving. If they do not want to open the metro in other states, they can do that. But the metro should be allowed in Delhi on a trial basis and in a phased manner. I hope that the central government will soon take a decision on the same for the convenience of the people,” added the CM.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that Chandani Chowk area has been redeveloped now and the area will be fully ready by November or December. The other markets are also saying that their markets should be redeveloped like Chandani Chowk. “I assure you that this was a pilot project was us. We will definitely implement this redevelopment plan on other markets and roads in Delhi. The markets in Delhi should be of international standards and we will do everything to make this possible. There was an issue of circle rates in Delhi, but we will soon work on resolving the issue. There were suggestions from market associations, automobile associations, and women entrepreneurs. We will work on resolving all the issues and we have taken all their suggestions into account. He also said that he is open to hearing all the issues related to NDMC and other MCDs.,” he said.

“I would like to request you to send these suggestions to us in writing. We would implement the suggestions and resolve the short term issues as soon as possible, and start working on long term measures also as soon as possible. We look forward to working on your suggestions from this interaction and making Delhi markets of international standards,” added the CM.
