“Until the top brass institutes like IITs and DTUs take a resolution that the students passing out will majorly be job providers, not job seekers ― the curriculum design teams of the institutes should have something for introspection. As a Nationalist, the nation expects you to be techno-entrepreneurs in-stead of becoming Job seekers only, that’s the greatest need of the country today in the era of growing unemployment.” Dy CM and Delhi Education Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia said this at the 5th Convocation ceremony of Delhi Technological University, in the presence or Lt. Governor, Shri Anil Baijal & Chairman UGC Prof. D. P. Singh.
A total of 2099 degrees were conferred, including 1647 UG, 383 PG and 69 PhD degrees. Also 2 Chancellors Medals and 43 Vice Chancellor medals were also awarded. The degrees were conferred upon scholars in the area of BTech, BTPT, MTPT, MTech, MBA, EMBA and PhD.
Lt. Governor, Delhi, Shri Anil Baijal while congratulating the students on their achievement, reminded the virtues of hard work on the part of their parents and social responsibilities.
Vice Chancellor, Delhi Technological University, Prof. Yogesh Singh, in his University report 2017-18
mentioned about excellent placement record of the university with a highest package of Rs 1.1 crore per annum and over 400 companies coming in for the placements.
The Chief Guest, Prof. D.P. Singh, Chairman UGC, in his convocation address emphasized the need of holistic development of an individual, apart from educational growth. He also urged the Higher Education Institutions to come up with solutions to combat Pollution and provide environmental sustainability.
The convocation concluded with a vote of thanks by the Registrar of the University.
